also I would like to say that those 2 players would fit right in with our squad. They both play with alot of intensity. turiaf just came off of a bad year maybe we can get him cheap. Reggie williams had a great year plus they have cj miles and azubuike maybe that makes morrow expendable.
Yao Ming will never play full minutes again, with the exception of a Championship run, past the first round.
this is what the front office is planning to do. it's not my idea. i just answer the question. i have no any inside connection to know what yao will be. you are no difference. so your statement is meaningless and equals to nothing. it just wasted your time.
Liking or not liking Amare is one thing, but the more important thing is, the Rockets have no personal PG for him to run pick n rolls so EVEN IF Morey did manage to get Amare, don't expect him to produce similar numbers as when he was playing alongside his pocket PG in Steve Nash
Or this off-season? With Karl likely not to coach anymore, I think the team might think about rebuilding.
Amare's talent level exceeds any dislike for him at think point He's actually BETTER than any of the players u mentioned Not sure y he wouldn't b a 2nd option
Lets go get Josh Smith. This is the Defensive presence everyone wants. Lets say after that Hawks performance they blow it all up! You know he'd be happy to get out of the ATL after that dismal performance. Joe Johnson is going to end up in NYK. Smith for Jefferies, Hill, Knicks pick (or some other combination) Brooks/Lowry Martin/Budinger Ariza/Battier Smith/Scola Yao/Hayes *you are welcome for seeing this here and not as a new thread.
I doubt if there is a solid plan B. Circumstances are fluid and can change from week to week... one more card lands on the table when the draft order gets set. Other cards to be played will be any big name free agents (of similar positions) making decisions and when the decisions are finally made. Sometimes the best laid "plans" dwindle down to the only choice(s) left. Still too many variables at this point. There definitely is a lot of jockeying to get the best position, but most teams want to have the widest view; i.e., seeing as many cards showing as possible for all players before placing their bets. Add on top of that, that most teams also try to keep as many cards hidden as possible and you can see how it becomes hard to predict or speculate very far into the process.
Woodson may get fired, Joe Johnson may leave, I dont see Atlanta letting Smith go, that would mean they would be totally rebuilding their team. Atlanta currently has a lot of talent they just don't seem very motivated.
I think any big name free agent, with the exception of Lebron, are in Morey range. Considering that Amar'e was nearly a Rocket two straight years in a row, I'd say he's our plan B. If Morey strikes out in free agency, he can pursue a player currently under contract. He even has the assets to sneak into the top 5 or 6 picks of this year's draft. There is also another option Houston has...staying pat, which I would be perfectly fine with. We got Yao coming back, a pair of all-star caliber players in our backcourt, solid veterans in Scola/Battier, an up and coming defensive specialist in Ariza, very promising rookies in Hill/Bud, and a best case scenario of the 2nd and 6th picks in the 2011 and 2012 drafts. In Morey I trust.
How about signing Ray Allen? He's a free agent. Sure we have Kevin Martin but Ray Allen has shown that he can work well and defer to others. He would be absolutely incredible in the Adelman offense with his catch-and-shoot. So maybe Ray could move to SF? Bring in Ariza off the bench. And then we can sign-and-trade for Brad Miller to remove some contracts. Yao / Miller Scola / Hill Allen / Ariza Martin / Chase Brooks / Lowry
Besides JJ, Smith and Horford I don't see the talent you speak of? Bibby is old, Starving Marvin is inconsistent at best and Crawford is nice but we've seen what happens when you put him on a less talented team. Evans and Zaza are nice players but role players at best and Woodson is a decent coach but doesn't seem like the answer. If they lose JJ and don't replace him with someone of his caliber the Hawks probably are a 6-7 seed with little to no chance of advancing out of the 1st rd. I honestly don't know what the Rox could offer besides Brooks or Martin that would make sense for them but if they lose JJ, blowing up the team is a reasonable direction.
