I love Barkley, I really do. He was my favorite player when he was on the Rockets, and I still love the guy. Unfortunately though, he will not get the itch - there's no chance - and he won't ever come back because he's into full retirement mode now. He's not gonna try and trim down nor should he.

I love the guy to death...but he's not a good D player...and would therefore clash with JVG.......

We will instead have to wait for Kevin McHale to come out of retirement....

If you think Clarence Weatherspoon can't jump...just imagine what it would be like having Chuck going up for a dunk.

Charles is one player who actually went out without tarnishing himself sitting on the bench for a mediocre team. He was injured when he went out, but prior to that he was still playing pretty good basketball. I don't want him to end up like Hakeem or Ewing trying to make an impact when they are obviously done.

We could just have him fall on opposing players, then we force the other team to play 47 minutes with just 5 backups.

How great would it be to have a youngER Barkley on this team?

Its too late in the season now. There's nothing he can do for us that Weatherspoon can't do.

If Charles was in good shape, why couldn't he play 20 minutes a game? Don't you guys think we could use a real power forward who knows the game inside and out? Many of us have raved about what a 40 year old Mark Jackson has given the Rockets... why on earth wouldn't we want to give this a try?

I don't think he's really interested, and that this is just a little, fun diversion from some of the exasperating play we've been seeing from the Rocks. But I would take Barkley on a flyer in a New York minute. Just watching him lay into some of the guys next season from the bench would be worth it.

edit: Sane, I was thinking of next season.

I'm in complete agreement with this one, my friend. I think we should bringback #4 in red and silver. Off the bench, he would be a tremendous asset giving us 20-25 minutes a game at the power forward position.

Barkley would provide Yao with a tough rebounder. Barkley is also a sensational passer. Role player Barkley focusing on rebounding and making his teammates better would be a tremendous asset.

I think Charles could snag at least 10 boards and give us five assists.

At least he got us to the western conference finals, remember we couldn't beat Seattle if our live depended on it until we go him.

The only itch he's gonna get is the itch he gets on his fat ass.
