I know it's hard to explain. Let alone try to live with.

I was in the army for 4 years, right around the beginning of the first Gulf War. I got to see different parts of the world (Germany, France, Korea—I'm still kicking myself for not hopping a C-140 to Japan while I was in Seoul, just to say I did it)...

...and never in any of those places did any of the people see me as anything other than American.

I'm more than embarassed to say that I didn't think of myself as one before that time. But I haven't thought of myself as anything else since.

So I have great confidence in assuming the massive responsibility of reconciling the terrible things about our society's past...and advocating for the things that will make a great future for everybody.

There's nothing to be ashamed of or angry about any more, for me.
    So I can offer peace.

    Doesn't mean anybody's gonna TAKE it...but I gotta try...;)

lol Atlanta is the small sample size my man

Houston is the 4th largest city in the country and atlanta is the 40th largest city in the country.....so the most expensive area in houston is a much bigger deal than a small area in atlanta...

oddly enough atlanta seems like an african american city. My gf watches the real housewives of atlanta which curiously enough is an all black cast even though the other housewives shows are all white?

Then there was another reality show on bravo last year she watched about doctors in atlanta....again almost all were black

same with the new show on bravo "the real atlanta" a basically all black cast

I know being at home all day while my gf is home I see alot TV and seemingly all the atlanta shows revolve around a black cast so it doesn't seem to be an equally weighted city.

Atlanta itself isn't as large as Houston, but it's metro area is comparable.

If you want to see black wealth..take a trip to ATL. It's called the "Mecca of the South" for a reason.

Atlanta is the 9th largest MSA in the US, compared to Houston being 5th. I'm honestly shocked that an entrepreneur with the intellect of yourself would overlook that.

What percentage of that wealth is thanks to music and sports and the business around that? I get it lebrons manager and posse get paid but lets look at the top medical center in Houston and the top wall street firm s in NYC....there are very few African Americans. I know all my moms colleagues here at the best neurology center and there is African American and he's from cameroon

Yes its built by the guy making 30K a year. Who then makes 65K, who then makes 90, then 120K, then...

So its saying people at lower income need to be better in their ways. Need to pick themselves up by the bootstraps and have business principles. But then dont believe in country's mantra of upward mobility, its just a rigidly defined "ya got it or ya don't"

People that make 100k, theyre the ones with growth potential allowed to generate 500k. 65k and under, they're not even able to get further than that theyre just stuck. This is the logic here.

Capital and inheritance isnt like a persons height that is mostly fixed and stays unchanged. Income level is variable. There are easily people with talent in any demographic but they dont have the nurturing environment to enhance their skills and tactfulness.

Atlanta is 4th in the most Fortune 500 companies headquartered in the US. You should just stop while you are way, way, way, way behind. I mean seriously, your argument about black people being inferior is based on your Friday family gatherings as a child and episodes of the Real Housewives.

and the fact the best private schools in houston didn't have hardly any african american students but other than that sure out of the millions of people in houston all the successful african americans must not live in the best areas or send kids to the best schools. I suppose they live in the fifth ward?

West University is the highest per sq ft price in houston, the population is over 14,000 people according to it's wikipedia and the african american population is .5%, half a freaking percent......wouldn't the successful african americans want to live in the best neighborhoods???

    West University wikipedia

    best quote from that wikipedia

"Claudia Feldman of the Houston Chronicle described West University Place as a "wealthy city inside a city" and "a tidy, orderly community, one where furniture matches, bills get paid and accomplished parents raise accomplished children"

so true, accomplished parents raise accomplished children.....

Amazing how that statement you made mixed in with American history answers why there are more African Americans in poverty relative to other races in this nation.

But I doubt you have the intelligence to put those two pieces together.

well fchowd....it seems to me that every minority group that's here today whether indians, asians, blacks all came here poor and uneducated yet somehow and for some reason the indians and asians can pull through and become successful and move up and live in these expensive areas but the african american group, people like you still make excuse after excuse on why they seem to be falling further and further behind. Im pretty sure my dad was poorer than the average african american in houston today when he arrived as a teenager 40+ years ago from india, yet through hard work he made it.

Except majority of indians are in poverty.....

O you are speaking of IMMIGRANTS!?! Well in that case African immigrants are doing quite well also....

Lesson here... Don't compare legal immigrants to the poor in the states. Immigrants tend to come to the States with greater motivation and aspirations than the average person here. African and Indian immigrants also come here mostly on student visas.

Now let's go back to your comment about how accomplished parents create accomplished children. I'm not sure if you ever have taken a U.S. history course but after slavery was ended there was an aditional ONE HUNDRED years of "black codes" and Jim Crow laws. One Hundred years of a race receiving on average 10% of the funding by state and local governments for public education that the other "superior" race received.... Remember eddie, Accomplished Parents create accomplished children.

Because of culture differences, both pressure to fit in AND in "selling out" innate human fear of unknown both real and irrational. Just, mutual awkwardness alone can keep things not coming together.

And assimilation is hard. Ask yourself this - do YOU know a big white crowd that WOULD WELCOME in a big incoming black crowd and embrace it? With NO NERVOUSNESS about it? Its all the talk about colorblind society but people will "gerrymander" themselves away from identfiable color threats and adjust boundaries accordingly.

That said, there are issues within black comminity. And I think what whites would "like" to hear is, that its not blamed on "the white man". (A big issue for instance, fatherless households). After a while it just doesnt matter WHOS fault it was, its you just gotta fix it
And in our country its supposed to come from "within"

    (more on this later maybe...)

I kinda feel like a stalker, but whatever. I didn't find you, but I'm pretty sure I found your business. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I doubt many other independent ATM owners have a section about Obamacare on their websites and how they will not hire any employees until "the law is repealed or the business and personal mandates are removed permanently."

I highly doubt you found my business, there is literally no way you found my business, Im sorry but that is such a troll. My business doesn't have a name that's ridiculous, each location has it's own name and they're all deposited into one account that goes through world pay like every other atm

I have an LLC and the money does into the LLC bank account, but nowhere on the ATM does it say a company name, strictly a location. You're a joke for even thinking you found me...

you think i have employees lol!?!?! I have under 40 ATM machines, you think i need an employee to handle that? If i did it would be an illegal i would pay in cash, the only thing i do is load ATMs. I think it's hilarious you found another atm company that doesnt want to hire employees. They must be enormous bc it doesn't take much to run an ATM company. I get locations from family and family friends and handle the machines myself, the hard part of this business is finding new locations, but lucky for me it seems indian people own a ton of gas stations and nightclubs so being a small community we all take care of each other.
