Not all rookies have big growth trajectory either. The bubble performance could be a fluke and then his stock will only go lower. Riley knows it.
Only curry, kd, gianns can exchange with Harden one on one. even if u use Leborn, AD level, it also need to exchange by by adding frps. They should give Houston 2 all stars plus two frps at least for the exchanges. Simmons and Heros just Eric Gordon level. Tilman better keeps harden for 1 year
Flukes are usually about hitting shots and scoring. Herro came out of college known to be a great shooter. It's not like all of a sudden he made shots in the bubble. What we saw in the past playoffs was poise and quickness that will do well in the pro level.
Simmons is fools gold, he will never develop a jump shot. NEVER. Take Herro and try to attract a marquee free agent is the way to go.
Also, Herro's minutes were raised in the playoffs. If you compare his regular season and playoffs numbers per 36 minutes, they are almost identical except with better rebounding and assist numbers. Regular season per 36 minutes (mpg 27.4) 3pa 39%; FTa 87%; rebounds 5.3; assists 2.9; pts 17.7 Playoffs per 36 minutes (mpg 33.6) 3pa 38%; FTa 87%; rebounds 7.5; assists 3.9; pts 17.1 So his shooting and scoring were very consistent, not just a bubble fluke. Of course, it's still possible that it's a one-year wonder, but not very likely. Just for fun, Harden's rookie year per 36m Regular season per 36 minutes (mpg 22.9) 3pa 38%; FTa 81%; rebounds 5.1; assists 2.8; pts 15.6 Playoffs per 36 minutes (mpg 20.0) 3pa 38%; FTa 84%; rebounds 4.5; assists 3.3; pts 13.8 Not saying Herro will be the next Harden. Just showing his potential.
I was down on Simmons, but watching him play the 4 with philly in spots was encouraging. He's got explosion and nice touch around the basket and is CONSTANTLY in motion from the dunkers spot as a screener. Great hands and iq and him and wood could be an exceptional front court with superior interior passing. Think of woods with a better handling and passing gianni's.
We have to create bidding war with Eastern conf team to maximize return value such that Miami is forced to put Bam + Herro + Duncan + 2FP into the package. I may be okay with that if that is the best offer we get. Personally, I would love to get Jamal Murray from Denver if he is made available but that seems unlikely.
Ethan Skolnick: -Heat are still engaged in active discussions. A. Still in the mix B. There is buy in from the Heat’s best players C. If the Heat add pieces on the table, they can probably get something done Adam Borai: -Precious, KZ, Duncan aren’t in any offers right now -Heat currently have best offer -Rockets don’t want to play these games with Daryl; they already didn’t want to deal with Daryl and fact it’s push and tug with Daryl on Simmons doesn’t help their case -Heat are in a good position -Heat need to add two out of three to make this happen Skolnick: -Kendrick Nunn didn’t play last night; some of that had to do with this -Nunn, Olynyk, Iguodala, Herro are in the deal -OKC could be in the deal? (To unprotect the picks) -Other possible third teams; my guess is it won’t be a two team trade -Houston would package Olynyk/Iguodala somewhere else to get additional assets -Herro is the center piece with Nunn behind him -Think they can get this done 1 and 1; Herro and KZ OR Precious if Houston doesn’t want to deal with Morey Greg Sylvander: -Precious can’t be traded until Christmas or day after; if they had to add a piece, probably KZ -Adamant on keeping Duncan Robinson Skolnick: -Have heard they don’t want to deal with Morey; Fertitta doesn’t want to trade him at all but doesn’t want to trade him to Philadelphia -Shams came out and said Simmons is in the deal; Morey said no. I’ve had six league sources say Daryl is lying through his teeth. Adam: -Deals I think Simmons was a part of, I get the sense Daryl was trying to bring the entire Houston team he ran to Philly and throw Tobias to a third team. -Rockets really want to get this done before opening night -Philly, there’s a new wrinkle; I get the sense that Simmons isn’t too thrilled with Morey and is not 100% on board with Daryl; there’s a chance Ben is leaking he’s on the table. I don’t think he’s 100% in on Daryl. He loves the team, loves Doc. Skolnick: -Spoke with someone who has a connection to a Heat player and said if the issue is KZ or Precious, this decision should take 5 seconds. As long as you’re keeping Duncan, just do it. -Heard Phoenix as third player; Denver as third player Adam: -Nuggets seem like perfect surprise team to enter, either as direct player for Harden or third team. -Atlanta and Denver are two teams Brooklyn wants to enter -Brooklyn would want to throw Allen, Prince, Dinwiddie, LeVert, picks to Denver, hope they send MPJ, Bol Bol, whatever to Houston and Harden to Brooklyn; same with Atlanta; Brooklyn is not out, they are looking for a third team.
@J.R. I just watched that. Iggy and Olynyk are obviously required. Herro and Robinson no matter what they say would both be the start of any talks. Then choose 1 of KZ or Precious. KZ if you want it done now, Precious if you are okay waiting until Christmas. Then add the two picks. Flip Iggy and Olynyk for picks. I think this is all about getting Morey to up his offer. If he loses to Riley again and it's for James that would be hysterical for everyone but him.
No chance he’s needed. James Harden would be their best player by far. Philly will blink, Stone is doing great, he’s even got me nervous about Miami, imagine Morey.
