Absolutely trade him, personally i wouldn't even consider him an asset in a trade like this, but seeing him as a couple of 2nd rounders makes sense.
I would agree @treyk3. The Miami trade just isn’t close to market value without Bam in it, and that’s without understanding how Bam and Wood could work together. The Miami trade right now is basically Herro and *stuff*. Nothing besides Herro is all that notable, and Herro himself is nothing more than an average starting shooting guard at this point. I think the trade deadline is going to be interesting. Among the top 4-5 teams in the East, whoever gets Harden is likely the favorite. I am NOT convinced at all that Simmons is an adequate return for Harden. He is basically the same player now that he was as a rookie, which while good, isn’t anywhere near the ballpark of Harden. So if Philly hasn’t put the godfather offer on the table, I’m content to wait. I want basically all of Philly’s young players and draft assets for Harden. That said, the Philly offer does seem inevitable. They are still not better than Miami or the Bucks, and just like AD with the Lakers, I think the big offer will come over the summer.

If we've learned anything over the tenure of Morey's career in Houston it's that don't believe a word he's saying about trade. I believe Simmons is available in a Harden trade. From what we are hearing however it doesn't seem like the Rockets are sold on Simmons. I don't know why unless they see a real opportunity to get another young all-star who potentially fits better. IMO you take Simmons and run with it. Simmons is a player you can build around. Fit everything else around him.
