I'm no pessimist. I'm just not a big fan on handouts. Accomplishing a goal through hard work is one of the most rewarding things in life.
Being an immature dumbass and acting the fool when times are good (gainfully employed) is one thing. Pitching your pride to the wind and asking for help when you're down on your luck is another. And aren't you trying to get your own small business going? Your posts don't reflect the attitude of a humble guy trying to make it.
I bought it up until here (post below) then got a little skeptical. Kind of odd how he said we'll "hear from BMW soon" and BMW posts exactly 2 minutes later confirming the meeting. I'm not all that familiar with BMWm3 but he has been here a while and seems to be legit, so I don't mean to call anyone out. Just thought the timing was a little fishy, like they both planned to get back on and "confirm" their meeting at the same time. They also arranged that meeting rather effortlessly and didn't even exchange numbers to meet, just said "i'm on my way" or "be there in 10 minutes". Was just very odd.
Yeah those are the worst when they flag you down on the street. I always just say no gas tank then when they keep at it and just ask for cash while leaning in the windowI shoot them and drive off.
An online forum is not the place to ask for help when you're down on your luck. The only reason to do that is if you've burned all of your bridges through self destructive drug addict type behavior and are too lazy to go stand on a street corner in the Texas heat.
According to his story, he has been out of a job for two months, no? Most of his posts came in that timespan. What the hell is that supposed to mean?
I saw him with my own eyes. He did seem down on his luck and I still believe him. I even bought him tapioca. Every thing he said seemed to matchup. I believe in karma, so if he's scamming(which I don't believe) it'll come back and bite him. But if he's telling the truth, than at least I helped him and his brother out a bit. That's all I can do.
Don't forget the one coming up to you to sell fake gold. I always ask them why won't you pawn it? You get more than what i have on me lol
There's really not much one can do to reveal and see if someone is being sincere or not by asking money. It's not like I'm going to follow the person I gave the money to and see if they are going to spend it on something that they really need. All I can really do is just tell them to spend it wisely and it gives me that good feeling of being a good samaritan with intentions of making someone happy at least just for that moment. It really sucks to see people out there and the hardships that some have to deal with. Yes, most of the time they dug their own hole, but just to see people suffer sucks. I hope this guy pulls through.
It means that this Is not the kind of attitude I would expect out a person trying to build a business. Why would anyone give business to someone who is petty? Take a lesson out of it instead of taking it personally.
We emailed back and forth. I bought stuff from people on here before. I am in no way connected to any scam. I met up with him. He drove a beat up black accord. He's short. His name is Dave or David. It matched up to me so I gave him a little something. His brother was there and he didn't look all there. I'm legit. But believe what you want to believe.
This thread really made me proud in that random people were willing to help out a stranger, but it is also sad how so many people just want to try to put this guy down. Most of us are pretty blessed to be in pretty well off situations. It makes no sense to look down on others and insult them just because you were never in that situation.
But you quoted me. Whom were you addressing? I didn't insult the guy. I just pointed out some flaws in his posting history.
HAH! Based on this I believe you. But ummmmm yeah that's ok. Had to lighten up the situation a little.
