I agree, but I think one player shouldnt be on that list

Shaq: He played in 95 vs Jordan and the Magic won, and then lost to the rockets, then, he was traded to the lakers and never played against jordan in the finals.

Shaq played Jordan in 96 with the Magic and got his ass handed to him.

Amazing what a legit power forward does for a team. (Dennis Rodman)

If Rafer Alston weren't on his team, Steve Francis could likely be a star.
    furthermore,
If Steve Francis weren't on his team, Mike James could likely be a star.
    further-furthermore,
If Mike James weren't on his team, Aaron Brooks could likely be a star.

I remember Rasheed Wallace could hardly get off the bench in his Washington Bullet days because of Chris Webber. Then Sheed goes to Portland and Jermaine O'Neal couldnt get off the bench because of Rasheed.

I'll put the blame on Juwan Howard for Sheed not getting off the bench.

IIRC, Webber, Howard and Wallace all started and Sheed got 30 mins a game.

If Steve Francis werent on this team, Moochie Norris could likely be a star.

If Juwan Howard werent on this team, Ryan Bowen could likely be a star.

If Chuck Hayes werent on this team, Mike Harris could likely be a star.

    For the old days...

If Hakeen Olajuwon werent on this team, Kevin Willis could likely be a star.

If Charles Barkley werent on this team, Robert Horry could likely be a star.

If Kenny Smith werent on this team, Sam Cassell could likely be a star. (hello, tinman :D )

I thought it was pretty self explanatory, but for those that may be unclear...the intention is to discuss current players who seem unable to tap their full potential as a star because they're playing behind someone, or maybe just with someone who demands all the shots. The intention is not to say which past players could have been stars (ie. Kevin Willis), or which current players could have become stars earlier (Sam Cassell).

That's why I said "could likely be" and not "could likely have been". Just a thought.

    :)

If Sebastian Telfair didn't suck so much ass, he would likely be a star.

Shaq wasn't traded, he left as a free agent after the 1996 season before the salary cap and player maximums.

Delonte West, John Salmons, and Kelenna all had been given chances for a month and were not stars.

Delonte West: not a PG, but not a good enough scorer at SG

    John Salmons: same as West

Kelenna: Overhyped few games. Ellis and Jackson are much better than him. Take them out for the whole season and still he would not be able to become a star. People think he could replace JRich, but thats not what GS thought. They just thought that he could soften the blow of losing him. I would even put a healthy Matt Barnes over him.

If Nash weren't on the Suns, Barbosa could likely be a star.
If Bowen weren't on the Spurs, Ime Udoka could be everyone's favorite UDFA.
If Don Nelson didn't coach the Warriors, Patrick O'Bryant would be a promising young center.

If Brenden Haywood werent on his team, Andray Blatche could likely be a star.

If Andre Miller werent on his team, Lou Williams could likely be a star.

If Carlos Boozer werent on his team, Andrei Kirilenko could likely be a superstar.

You are so right. But it's fun to fill in the blanks with past players who could have been star. Just can't help but to imagine how Moochie and Ryan Bowen could have been "stars" :D and what if Cassell and Horry was not traded.
