Would Alperen Sengun be the top pick? If not where does he go?

Best players seem to be Alperen, Scottie Barnes, Even Mobley, Franz Wagner and Cade Cunningham (not necessarily in that order). Am I missing someone?

Does anyone think Jalen deserves to be mentioned in this group? He does have long stretches where he is arguably the best of the bunch but of course he also has stretches where he looks like he doesn’t belong in the NBA.

I’m not sure anyone has the “almost” complete game that Alperen has. Efficient scorer, good rebounder, high assist man, much improved defense but almost no 3 point shot. I’m not sure I would trade him for anyone else I can think of from the 2021 draft although I really like Mobley and Barnes. I think Cade is finally starting to show why he was drafted so high.

    I’m going with Alperen.

Green would go somewhere 9-12 I guess.

Alperen goes no. 1, and it is not close.

A number one has to have super star caliber type talent, Sengun is really good as a 2nd or third option.... Jalen, Barnes, Cade and Wagner have a higher ceiling...

We could likely say that Green was a bust pick! He’s too apt to only do it his way or else he sulks.

Seems he can’t let his offensive game flow naturally within a system, as it inhibits any offensive production. A shooting guard who can’t shoot is an oxymoron.

On the other end, Sengun has shown to be a very elite prospect at the center position. And we all know that getting a center is a lot more difficult than getting a shooting guard.

So it was perhaps a wash. Sengun seems worthy of being a top 3 pick, and my personal top pick in the draft.

I'd guess Barnes, Mobley, or Franz. I think Sengun is with that group as best player, but don't think he would go over those three considering Detroit has the pick.

I think the top 2 are Mobley and Barnes in any order, the next 2 are Sengun and Wagner in any order

The guy who actually went #1 might not go top 10 and the guy who actually went #2 might not go top 15.

LOL at Jalen Johnson and Kuminga over Sengun.

Even Jalen Johnson wouldn't pick himself over Sengun bruh, be serious.

Its either Mobley or Barnes just for roster flexibility moving forward.
Then depending on your taste either Franz and Alpi

    @Salvy is Salvy.

It is like Beckett's Murphy starting line: The sun shone, having no alternative.

    We have @Salvy, no alternative.

    1. Scottie Barnes - I think Detroit would like him a little better than Sengun.
    2. Alperen Sengun - the Rockets would want to make sure to get him, though I'd be very tempted to take Cunningham.
    3. Evan Mobley - the Cavs seem pretty happy with their original choice.
    4. Cade Cunningham falls to the Raptors.
    5. Franz Wagner - or the Magic could take Jalen Green.

Basically, instead of Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun, the Rockets end up with Sengun and whoever is left at Pick 16.
The original draft seems better than the do-over.

If Sengun was not available there would be no #16 pick for Rockets.

Why would Rockets give 2 FRPs for an ordinary #16?
