The first time I saw this in the news I thought it was incredibly idiotic and insensitive, a gut reaction, and wasn't surprised that thousands of New Yorkers saw the aircraft and began pouring out of buildings. I told my wife that someone should be fired over it and was relieved that President Obama had nothing to do with the incident. In fact, I don't know why basso is being given a hard time by anyone in this instance. True, I haven't read the thread, except for a bit of the first page, so maybe I missed something, but this was caused by idiots, and they should be canned, post haste, in my opinion.
Some things need authorization from the President...(especially regarding the fly whereabouts of an Air Force One plane)
Sure, fly Air Force One anywhere...I know it didn't, but I'm saying it should! and it is regardless of WHO the President is...
there's no way calderon made this decision on his own. i don't think Obama necessarily signed off on it, but i have no doubt axelrod instigated it.
There is a differance between "don't need authorization" and "should need authorization" from the President... My question is after we tell the people running around for their lives that it is no "big deal" (as suggested by others), who is held accountable in the White House or Pentagon? What will be the consequences to those mysterious people who "authorized" the air show to take place? I think the American people deserve answers on who authorized this as well as who ALL knew about it...Your tax dollars at work. Go Earth Day!
Franchise, you know thats not possible in a thread involving Sam & basso. You have to wait until they start going back and forth in a new thread or basso digs up one of his old threads again.
I thought you weren't making political hay out of this. Also the plane flown wasn't Air Force one but one of the two specially equipped 747's that the President uses. Only when the President is on board is it called Air Force One. I don't know enough to say for certain if the President has to authorize their use but my guess is as long as one is always available then using the other doesn't need specifica Presidential authority but can be used on the Air Force's discretion.
exactly, but hey, this will help palin win in 2012. "and golly gee gosh darnit, only a community organizer would orgainze a fly over, hardy har har"
I completely understand... The semi-automatic rifle under my bed isn't an M4 clone but one of two specially equipped rifles I use. Only when I shoot with it can you call it an M4 clone.
Well I trust you'll start 17 new threads when you have the proof you seek - which is proof of....uh, what exactly? You don't even know what you are whining about.
LOL the evolution of the basso, "i'm really open minded" thread I'm just mad that this happening I'm not blaming Obama Well, who really knows the truth Please, who else was it
I was kidding, I actually knew about this fact of the call sign differance from History channel sometime ago... I still don't call my rifle an "M4", till I actually use it....
I don't know - what is the standard operating procedure for taking publicity shots of VC-25/89th Military Airlift Wing? - you appear to be an expert in this area so I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.
