I'm definitely sick of the increasing trend of posters coming on here determined to kick sand over specific players or staff. If you can't enjoy the team, take a damn break. At the very least, shut the hell up. There's a line between making a critical observation and carping.

I'm pretty disappointed that the team blew the Phoenix game and cost themselves a reasonable matchup, but it is what it is. Being a better fan means letting it go and refocus on rooting for the team.

Versus where we were 12 months ago, you have to be proud of the Rockets.

Boom. We made the playoffs this year, and probably one of the youngest teams EVER to do it. Probably won't make it past the first round, but that's okay because the next few years we will get deeper into it and can not wait. No point bashing young players who are still growing and going to get much better as we progress.

Finally someone makes some sense. Its just mind boggling that one bad game all of a sudden harden or parsons or lin are overated. some of the Fake rockets fans in here should just support the heat. This is a young team that will have some ups and downs as evicenced by last two games. But still The whole organization have done a tremendous job and will keep on working to become a legit title contender. However as always, in sports, there always loyal fans, and then there is always bandwagoner/idiot fans.

To the OP... while I understand and appreciate your perspective... when stupid happens (ie Asik playing14 mins against Suns, Delfino playing pf, lack of proper rotations and playcalling, etc...) I understand the frustration among fans...

If we get beat because we encounter a better team with more talent - so be it. But, when we beat ourselves through stupidity... there's blame to be assigned - and hopefully knowledge to be gained so it's not a reoccurring trend....

The people that crack me up the most are the ones who claim they expected this team to be a 50 win team from the beginning. With a straight face. Saying "yeah, i totally expected that with harden." Get outta here.

Even though things like that shouldn't need to be said, I'm glad someone did. I swear we need a troll and sarcasm font in the worst way.

Don't assume that at all. Especially not if McHale stays as our coach. Morey can get all the talent he wants but if the coaches mismanage them we're not going to reach our ceiling.

However Rockets are a young team. Dont always blame on Mchale, like some idiot bandwagoners. Have to support this team whether its good or bad.

Heat and Thunder are so boring though!

just kidding, i've become a Rocket fan solely because they are super exciting as hell to watch:grin:

If we could at least win 1 game vs the Thunder, i'll be happy.

Most people don't like to hear others complain about things. But you know, that's kinda what the internet has become, especially on forum type sites like this one.

The irony here is that while there may be a lot of angry and emotional type threads lately, this thread is essentially a thread *about* angry and emotional type threads.

It's understandable that emotions have been flying high considering everyone here is passionate about the Houston Rockets -- the players and the coaches -- and don't like to see them failing.

I say, let people post what they want (so long as it's not personally attacking another user). Let them vent. Let them say stupid stuff in the moments of anger, sadness, and frustration. If you don't like that, then you have the right to vent in this thread.

If none of this venting is condoned, then ban/delete all of it. This thread and the users that posted in this thread included. That way, it's fair to all.

Amen to OP. Let's be honest to ourselves. We are not a contender. While we want the team to achieve the best they can, they probably have done that with some more. Man, we even beat ou the Mavs for the playoffs. The Kings and Blazers arguably have more talented roster than us and older than us, look at where they are now. Sit back and relax. This year has been a good year for Rox so far.

So, when a team go from 42 and 43 wins to 45, they are no longer mediocre and is now "special" and "exciting."

Objectively, this team has potential, but is far from the talent level of the truly good young teams like OKC or even the pre-injury Portland teams of several years ago.

Maybe the team has exceeded your expectations, and that of Vegas oddsmakers, but I thought they'd end up slightly over .500 going into the season. So, perhaps this is why I am not super happy right now.

    I never got this.

"I had low expectations. The analysts who never watch Rockets games has low expectations (Don't even try to argue this one, we have seen the level of comments on Rockets bordering around ignorance). Thus, it is ok if the team loses games due to stupid coaching."

Why? I saw the first 2 games and I thought "Hell, if this team can play like this without any coaching, how are they going to be when they get some". Over time and time again, our core kept improving and we showed what we could do when we play to our strengths.

Now, if this team loses close games in this silly way, if they perform consistently worse after getting coached for a 2-3 day break, what are we as fans supposed to think? What do you think this points to?

Also, do you think we were the only one questioning decisions last night? Did you see some of the tweets that were posted to the game thread last night, during or after the game? Did you listen to the commentary?

There is a big problem. This team can achieve better but for whatever reasons (I won't speculate here), we had trouble getting results in so many close games. We blew off leads, we had comical line-ups and match-ups. You think this is not worth criticizing? Should we just say "oh we made it to playoffs, all is well."

And don't even bring the youth into this. Inexperience cost us some games. This is what our coaching was supposed to cover for. They failed in this regard as well.

I am happy for Rockets making it to the playoffs. I am happier that we won't face Nuggets and Iggy, considering the current "style" of our team. I think we still have a good chance of beating OKC due to match-up reasons.

And I will still criticize McHale for the stupid stuff he keeps pulling during the games.
