Having a player win the good samaritan of the year award isn't going to help us advance in the playoffs. I'll take the risk of trading for Artest because it does make us that much better to advance. He's just as good of a defender as Battier if not better, can create his own shot, drive, and shoot the 3 ball.
T.Mcgrady, I'm not the biggest Dorsey fan here but that was totally ridiculous by the ref. I guess Dorsey might deserve some blame but I'm willing to let this one slide 100%. 6 stupid seconds were left in the game and the ref lost his mind! Let's wait until training camp or pre-season before piling on Dorsey about something. I've never liked him but he's a Rocket now and we should want him to succeed here.
I'm not debating artest talent level vs battiers. ask the eagles if they thought bringing in a prolific wideout like terrell owens to advance was worth it.
As long as doesn't go Pac-Man Jones on us, you should be happy that we manage to get a steal like him in the 2nd round. I personally felt that action by Dorsey could also be examined in a more positive light. That was not a personal vendetta type of move or anything, but rather in my opinion a fiery, heat-of-the-moment reaction-and he wasn't even playing! That showed to me that he's a fiery competitor, and Lord knows we need a tough, gritty, and most importantly, strong post player to defend against players like.....Carlos Boozer. If anything, we should use him as a bulldozer , cause neither Yao, Scola, and Landry (assuming he re-signs with us) are strong enough to handle some of the bigger and stronger centers and forwards.

Dorsey is just the post roster that morey has expected for long. As rockets have yao at 5th position, there is no need to take any other genuies post roster like KG,that's why morey declined woves' offer in spring 06. Compared to KG,scola is less talented yet still has a gift for basketball.As a genuies roster ,scola will never be satisfied to be yao's assistant and earn 3m per year.morey can just offer scola 3m while some euro clubs can pay him 15m EUs ,scola know clearly the difference between $ 3m and 15mEUs.So scola tends to betray rockets and go back to europ for EUs in stead of the decresing dollars.morey will never be able to offer scola as much money as the Euroepeans can offer him,because of the damned cap .Although rockets will have bird rights for scola when his contract expires,morey will still not be able to afford a 1m/yr contract for scola,because of the lux tax and his mean board.So rockets should trade scola ,bjax and brooks as a package for artest.scola and brooks are the rosters they just want,and bjax is to balance the salary.of course kings will also have to offer some guy to match the salary,it's possiblt that the guy packed with artest is useless for kings ,and rockets as well .If so ,morey will buy out his contract to avoid the tax which is the most horrible thing to les. The post conbination is usually quite important for a team to chase the championship.Looking back to 04's pistons,Ben took more charge of defence and rebounds while rasheed aimed at offence. I'm really curious about this incident of Dorsey attacking a fan during college. I tried checking a couple blogs like Deadspin that I would assume would have a story like that, and couldn't find anything. A handful of players do stupid stuff in college, that doesn't mean they are wildly out of control. I sat behind Joey the entire game. so yeah the refs just took matters in his own hands there was nothing joey said to the refs at all the entire game he was talking to the wizards fans sitting behind me and then stood up for his teammates. and you dont want a player like that one the team.
