DD, that's true about different coaches for different teams. I think Avee would be great for this team.

Let's see, when you last said the "my way or the highway" was not working, the team had Battier, Yao, Alston, McGrady, Mutumbo, Head, Hayes.

Now it's totally different, featuring Battier, Yao, Alston, McGrady, Mutumbo, Head, Hayes.

I could care less about an identity or whatever other catchphrase is out there such as having "it". I just want them to win games and not be cheats.

We were talking about Bonzi being a knucklehead and how some players need a different style of coaching to motivate them. Context of the discussion was different and you know that.....

I have been thinking about him, but not sure yet....he did outcoach JVG that year...so maybe...lol.

i think swagger, more than identity, is what they are lacking...kind of the same thing, but i think swagger is more important. Boston, LA, san antonio, they all have it. The suns don't really have it, neither does dallas.

Confidence/Swagger comes with knowing what you are going to do and having it succeed....time and time again.

It's that no one has confidence in the 4th qtr.

This team has no 4th QTR mojo.

That's the problem. No swagger. No poise down the strecth. No killer instanct.

Everyone plays scared...tight, stressed and hesitent.

They are so freaked out about screwing up the end of a game, the end up screwing it up.

They need to have more fun out there and relax. Play team ball, love each other an all that....

Maybe they need to take a road trip during the all-star break - you know, drive together on a bus and get stuck in some hicktown where they need eachother to survive.

Von Wafer has it.....he just plays.....we have other guys that nut up. Yao has it, but teams swarm him and he is not quick enough to get a shot when that happens, but it creates opportunities for others.

Brooks was ok until his 20 game slump....Wafer is probably the guy most clutch currently on the team...him or Barry.

    Amazing.

the only way they are going to get an identity is by having more time time practice with each other. when was the last time that all players actually got to have a normal practice session. players in and out. ron, t-mac just got back from their injuries. they just need more practice together and i think if they can do that, they will know what their roles are

Haha - wafer hasn't been very clutch in the 4th qtr so I'm surprised you would try to make this argument.

That Boston 3pter, another one as the lead was collapsing against Utah....

    Yeah, that is hardly clutch....

He has not been in during crunch time lately, and the team has been collapsing.....huh...weird how that happens isn't it?

The team goes on a nice run with Tmac and Artest out, and then when they come back - the guys with better talent - the team suffers....huh....weird.

But in reality it is not weird, some players fit together better, Wafer fits PERFECTLY with a Yao centric team.

He would not be near as effective elsewhere...but here...perfect, better than Artest and better than today's McGrady.

But whatever, I am sure that the team will stop blowing 4th quarter leads.....as soon as the culprits are traded.

adleman shouldve used that last play with steve novak hitting the GW 3 pter where t-mac drove to the lane and passed it to an open outside shooter. i wouldve been happy with that play even if we lost

That is close to the same play, the only difference is that TMac drove in the Sacremento game.....which was Adelman's idea, I think.

    No the problem is
    Rick has an identity
The teams seems to have that Identity at time to time
    so
when does it have the Identity
THE TIMES THAT RON AND TMAC ARE NOT IMPOSING *THEIR* IDENTITIES ON THE TEAM

they got Identities. . . .but they need ONE IDENTITY

i was watching the last play again and battier was wide open too. but it would have been a tough pass with dalembert guarding him though

That is what I meant by a lack of trust, sure guys pass when things are good, but when they pass when things are bad...THAT is the true test of trust.

Trusting your teamate to make the last shot, or trusting them to make the decision on whether to shoot or pass.

Then the team can stop choking away 4th quarter leads.
