I'm just glad ime is our coach and not u knee jerkers. There's really no point in convincing in the haters on their sht takes about green. Most of them are just box score watcher btching and pining for the likes of kpj and Mobley whenever we lose. Others are hating him bc of his flamboyant personality. Can always count on the usual suspects to come out full force when we lose and disappear back into the hole when we win. If u have patience we will see how green turns out, we are still trending up regardless with sengun as the main core. I ain't worried.
For me, Sengun and Smith are definitely part of the core. Perfect complements. I’ve also said that I could see Brooks as part of our core. He’s only 27 and his game should age well. Eason, to my eyes, is perfect in a sixth-man, energy and role. Is that type of guy a “core” player? Between Amen, Green, and Whitmore, I think at least one guy will be a part of the core, if not two, but I’m not nearly ready to say who, Of course, there’s always the possibility that the Rockets may trade for a core piece. In short, the Rockets are incomplete, which is pretty exciting considering how good they’ve been.
Jalen could still be in our core but just in a different role guys. There’s also a little bit of time left to see if he can turn the corner. He did come in the league early and he’s never really been coached imo. I see Jalen’s offensive talent harder to replace than some might think and even if long term it’s more in a 6th man type of role, that’s still a piece of the core. I just see more and more evidence that he’s likely not a core superstar 2 guard scorer piece and maybe a smaller but still important piece. Right now Amen and Cam are question marks because they haven’t really played yet but the core IMO in order of importance is: Sengun FVV Jabari Brooks And Jalen with an asterisk
What more does Jalen need to do to become a core piece? He tirelessly gives his all on the court, but he still hasn't made it onto any of the core lists. I had assumed our fanbase was loyal and faithful to him, but perhaps I was mistaken. It doesn't necessarily mean that Sengun is a superior player just because he scored more points in a few games.
Jalen's exceptional talent is a generational rarity that is nearly irreplaceable. This is precisely why he stands as an untouchable franchise star today. The only issue is that our fanbase doesn't pay enough attention to or care about him. He definitely feels betrayed, and that negatively impacts his shooting and finishing on the court. How is it acceptable for Sengun to be continuously featured and praised by both the front office and Ime? Where is Rockets PR team to introduce Jalen to the entire NBA community?
I’m faithful to the Rockets. That’s it. What does Jalen have to do? It’s simple — score consistently and efficiently (at least .57 - .58 TS%, ideally .6+). It’s the exact thing we need when considering a Sengun/Smith/Brooks core — a slashing, efficient 2 guard.
Jalen displays exceptional defensive skills when guarding against the top players on the opposing teams. He exerts his maximum effort when driving towards the rim and making successful passes to his team members. Why are you dissatisfied with his performance? Just because of some statistical tale? He is just a 3rd year player so he is still developing...
the knee-jerk overreactions of ‘trade his bum azz" are as irrational as is the unconditional devotion and infatuation with him. Any rational GM’s positions should be "definitely flawed, not untouchable, but the scoring bursts every now and then are nice… I’ll listen carefully to all calls while patiently waiting to see if some Ime magic or otherwise development materializes"
I can see that touching the ball for the Rockets no longer feels the same for him on the court. He lacks the motivation to carry the team as a no-name foreigner has been given the green light instead, seemingly to prevent him from showcasing his skills and efficient scoring every game. It's hard to believe that our beloved star is being treated like a third-string player.

I'm not dissatisfied with his defensive performance. I'm quite happy with his defensive development, though I'm not sure it's fair to say he consistently guards the other team's "top" players. That duty is generally reserved for Smith and Brooks, or Sengun if it's a guy like Jokic. It's not about the raw numbers necessarily. I would be thrilled if Green was averaging an efficient 20 while playing good defense. But he's not. He needs to get his 3 ball percentage to .36+. He needs to get his TS% to .57+ at the very least. An inefficient guard who takes a lot of shots can kill an offense. Really, my biggest worry is his lack of efficiency development -- his FG% is basically at his career average of .42, his 3 ball is essentially at his career average of .34, and his TS% is essentially at his career average of .54. Those are not good efficiency metrics, and, at the end of the day, his primary job is to put the ball into the hoop.
This yr FVV Jabari Sengun Brooks Jalen Next yr Jabari Sengun Brooks FVV/Thompson Whitmore × I think Jalen wil be moved.
Green for the first two years of his career was undoubtedly the face of the franchise and hailed as our savior. Alp was not featured near as much. Now they’re both featured in commercials and print media. On the court, Ime has been going through Alp more but Green still has a slight advantage in usage. I like Green, but he’s playing passive and lacking confidence. He needs to find that spark and see how he can fit in within a structured offense.
This is a dumb post. Extremely dumb. If you can’t support a merit based system that Ime is running, then you don’t care about the rockets, you care about an individual.
Still doesn't make sense that Jalen was overshadowed by an unknown guy from middle east. He is giving his all on the court and demonstrating his defensive skills, but I have never heard fans speak positively about him. What is the root of this bias?
