If he doesn’t have any incidents this year and looks to be mentally maturing, I bet a few teams try to overpay him in RFA for him to come play shooting guard. A few teams I think of are the Memphis, Atlanta, Sacramento
What would you consider overpaying, and what do you see the Rockets matching? I’d have a hard time committing more than 7-8 per as I see KPJ as a 6th man in the future.
We agree 100% on Green. I also don't doubt that players like KPJ (to hang out with) . I don't think anyone honestly cares about playing with him though. Green definitely carries more weight there
Bobbthegeek and DD again loving the same player. Looks like it's time to move on from KPJ. Neither can stand to be wrong (which is ironic because they always are)
If he hoops this season with signs in maturity, I see teams with all star point guards throwing 15-20 mil at him to come play SG and backup ball handler I am KPJ ‘s biggest dick rider but I have high expectations for this year. I need him to show signs of maturity and leadership. I also need him to show signs of being capable of being a top 5 defender in a few years. I’ll let his lack of point guard experience be overlooked if he can consistently put up respectable numbers, continues to make strides defensively, and shows ability to play within a system If he can show all that this season I would throw him 36-45mil/3y
You can't be serious right now? 7-8? the last six man is tyler herro who is about to get a max contract no player is going to sign with the rockets if you're being cheap with the talent you have KPJ should get 10m to 12m a year, hell Jordan clarkson is making 13m a year and he won the pervious year so i 100% don't know what you're on to think underpaying KPJ is a smart idea.
He has been inconsistent and not gone a full season without drama. I might match 10-12 per if he continues to improve his consistency and maturity next year. I’d still let him go to RFA just in the interest of good business.
If he plays anywhere near how he ended last season he is a 20m/yr player. Only the Rockets really know if he has really matured. If he has, they will pay a lot for him.
The problem for the team will be if he plays all year like he played at the end, with Green, he is going to demand a MAX contract, and other teams will give it to him, so the Rox will be forced to match it - which saves them money in the end......and I guess that is a good thing. DD
Explain. All I said was that you don’t have to attach assets to those players because you claimed that it would take assets to move off of players on friendly contracts. Was I wrong about KMJ having value around the league? Apparently not. You don’t think Tate or Mathews are on bargain deals as role players? I literally proposed using them to move 1 or 2 spots. Or is it classic overvaluing to say that KPJ has no value at all? You are the one trying to say it would take assets to move role players on friendly deals. Explain.
what's there to explain. i said each one of those players isn't worth much at all alone and that you need to attach an assest to them if you intend to move up which is the post i responded to. then you went on a rant trying to overvalue them
you have a problem reading? nobody is trading for 3 undrafted players and 1 end of 2nd round player alone to move up in the draft. that literally makes 0 sense. keep up with the post before ranting
Just thought an example of classic overvaluing by a mile would be readily apparent. Whatever man peace out.
