What's everyone's ideal starting lineup next season after free agency and the draft? Curious to see some potential lineups. I think mine for now may be something along the lines of; C - Alperun Sengun PF - Jabari Smith Jr SF - Derick Jones Jr? Stanley Johnson? SG - Jalen Green PG - Kevin Porter Jr Not sure if I'd rather have Chet at C with Sengun at PF. Wood and Gordon are pretty much goners and I love that Josh Christopher has progressed nicely and shown at least to me that he can be a formidable 6 man to go with KJ and Tate but I wonder who fills that starting SF position.
How do you think he'll hold up in the NBA at the C position? I like the thought of pairing him with Sengun at PF. Would need a defensive starting SF which they can sign or draft but that lineup would have tons of potential. C - Chet PF - Sengun SF - ?? SG - Green PG - KPJ I actually really like that. Oubre at starting SF?
I have no idea how Chet will hold up long term but I think he’s BPA. For now the Rockets still have the chance to pick first so I’m just sticking with BPA as the guy. It’s easier to project Jabari Smith and he could end up being a super star so i like him too. I just hope the rockets get a top 2 pick again. i wouldn’t get too attached to positions because the team keeps screaming position-less but Chet has the lowest usage out of the top 4 guys in this draft and is easily the best defender

I'm mad that we acquired Robinson when Matthews offer the same, if not better, production and we didn't have to pay him $16 million a season.
C - Sengun PF - Holmgren SF - Murray SG - Green PG - Porter Jr. Hopefully we can luck out and get Chet but it would be awesome if someone like Murray could fall to us as well or we could trade up for him. Mathurin would be great as well at the 3. I think we gotta give KPJ one more year too especially since we own our pick next year in case he flames out or doesn’t improve.
Not a fan of KPJ? I took a look at a video of Mathurin and I really like what he brings. I'd have to watch more game film on his defense but I love his aggressiveness on offense taking it to the rim along with the ability to hit the 3. Would be a nice addition.
I know a lot of focus on trade targets are in the upcoming draft, but I wonder what it would take to get Kuminga. He's just scratching the surface of what his potential is.
I would be fine with him as a backup guard if he's fine with being a backup guard, and I am open to him fighting his way to being a starter. If the Rockets can get Jabari, they need someone that can consistently get him the ball game in and game out. I'm not too sold on Brunson, but he seems the easiest PG to acquire that can do that. On Mathurin's defense, it comes and goes, but has potential to be decent to good.
At 21 years old I think KPJ is just scratching the surface. He definitely has a lot of maturing to do on and off the court but if he can put it all together I think he'll be phenomenal especially given the people around him. They have a good young group that seems like they have fun together I just pray it stays like that. The more I watch of Mathurin the more I really like him. It would be hard for them to maneuver and get him though I think. Lineup wise I'm really liking; C - Chet PF - Sengun SF - Mathurin SG - J. Green PG - KPJ That lineup just screams potential. Realistically it would be someone else starting at SF but hopefully it's a young 3 & D. With guys like Christopher, Tate, Martin and others coming off the bench it would be a good core to build off of.
I think the trade would have to involve Wood and/or Gordon. I can see why the Warriors would do it with Klay, Curry and Green getting on the older side. I think a player like Wood is what they're missing.
