    my ideal offseason:

    1. the rockets win the lottery and draft ming with the first pick. this gives us a potential stud big man who at the minimum can platoon with cato until he's ready.

    2. the raptors sneak into the playoffs and we trade their pick plus kt for lamar odom. he gives us a legit point forward who handles the ball and sees the court exceptionally well.

    our lineup would be:

    cato/ming/collier
    taylor/griffin
    odom/rice/morris
    mobley/torres
    francis/moochie

that's at least a playoff team next year and much much more over the next decade if kept together.

Did anyone see the Mc all american game?

    Carmelo Anthony was outstanding
I know it was only one game, and no one played defense but

he's special... his mom said so

shame he's not coming out this year, I'd take him at 14
I don't think Stoudemire will get past the Wizards from the rumors i've heard

I'm not the one that called Wilcox a role player. Tell me why Battier can't be a 20pt 6rebs 4 asst sg or sf? He avg 15 as a rookie. My idea of a role player is one of those decent all around player that will be around 13pts 5 rebs and 4 asst career type guys. Thats someone you don't draft at the 5 ot 6 spot.

#1: Francis for Crawford+Ming:go another direction to rebuild team
#2: Draft Caron Butler (#6): most talented that fills need
#3: Moochie for Avery Johnson+2nd round pick: AJ provides leadership, and friendlier contract. Money is no object to Cuban

    Maybe:
#4: Crawford, KT, #14 for Andre Miller: Would CLE do this? I dunno. This would significantly upgrade their youth, but do they get enough in return? Do we?

#5: Package Detroit #2 (via Toronto) with Dallas #2 for a higher 2nd rounder, draft Marcus or other young PG:understudy to Johnson

#6: Resign Torres OR similar backup SG type for 1 mill exception

    Ming/Cato/Collier
    Griffin/Taylor
    Butler/Rice/Morris
    Mobley/Torres
    Miller or Crawford/Johnson/Taylor(?)

if Crawford: KT, and #14 too, or package those towards some other high caliber PG.

On a crappy team like the Grizzlies Battier probably wont' be a role player. He gets traded to 75% of the other teams in the NBA and he would be. I guess our definitions are just different. I even consider Ben Wallace a role player, and that's who I see Wilcox being similar to. However, I think Wilcox actually has potential to improve his offensive skills whereas there was no chance with Wallace. I predict Wilcox at least being about a 12 point, 10 rebounds, 2 blocks per game player. And that's only if he doesn't improve his offensive game. Those number are worth a top ten pick in my opinion. But it definitely depends on the team who is doing the drafting. I think the Rockets could use strong rebounding and defensive big men more than a scorer.
