Don't think Harden will leave Morey. Just a hunch

I don't get why people always want to trade the player they think sucks for a player they think is good.

    That's not how trades work.

Both teams need to feel the deal is mutually beneficial.

Just a hint: If you don't feel a little anxiety about what you're trading away it's probably (a) an unrealistic trade or (b) realistic because you're overrating/underrating someone in the deal.

The bigger trap, I think, is thinking teams are more willing to take a pupu platter than they really are. Lots of people thinking we can trade a handful of mediocre assets for one really good one. I've been guilty of this myself. But the NBA, with its small rosters, heavily favors having a smaller number of really good (or great) players over a larger number of mediocre players, even if the value seems similar on its face. In reality, most trades involving good starters are one centerpiece for another centerpiece, and everything else involved is just salary fillers or minor sweeteners to get one of the parties over the hump.

Only real exception to that is first-round picks. Teams always want as many of those as they can get.

These kind of threads are designed to bait the player only fans.. and they fall for it everytime... smh
But I'll say Tre Jones or Conley would be ideal..

It’s the other way around imo. Morey needs Harden way more than Harden needs Morey.

Right but Morey traded for Harden which gave him the opportunity to grow into a superstar. He then traded for Harden again. Harden owes Maury a lot

    The answer is Josh Giddey.

    Unselfish guy, scores, assists, rebounds.

In his first 2 years his numbers are 15/8/6. He would be perfect for our quartet.

The draft has 2 options other that Henderson. Anthony Black and Jalen Hood-Schifino. Both fill the need. Black (project mid lottery - mid FRP) would blend in easily but require Green to step up to his potential. JHS (projected late lottery - mid FRP)is the best 2 way point in the draft, he IMO is one of the few “sleepers” of this draft class. If they live up to there comps more athletic Giddey or Daron Williams what’s not to like?

    offense gonna go through alpi

we need a pippen-esque defensive point guard that can shoot and bring the ball up

doesn't need to be a great passer

needs length quickness and brains to smother and choke out all the small guards man to man and a nightmare in the passing lanes

then bring it up shovel it off to alpi and go spot up to either shoot or attack the close out.

Cason Wallace?? I was hoping to get him as backup with the clippers pick when there was a chance the pick was in the 13-14 range. I thought he would have been great to back up harden or Van fleet for a few seasons then if he panned out go into the starting role. I don’t think TyTy is capable of that. He is likely relegated to being a backup.

I don't think anyone behind Scoot and Amen is likely to be a starting-caliber point guard right away. Lots of guys I like more than TyTy, but none of them I want to hand the keys to. If we draft a guy like Black, Wallace, or Hood-Schifino, he might make a good backup behind somebody else.

I think the other two have a higher offensive ceiling & floor for that matter. I like the idea of starting a vet for a few years. That would help everyone. The position of lead guard is hard to learn in real time because his/her play effects everything and everyone. The stability only comes with time on task.

The ideal point guard? How about the Point God. Chris Paul on a team friendly deal.
