I want no part of Pelicans in PO... and if they get a couple shooters. ugh no thanks. I envision Boogie will be a monster in the PO. To go along with Ant Davis & PO Rondo
Just too early to really focus too much on matchups. That said, I would love to see OKC/GSW on the other side of the bracket. And I would love the Rockets to at minimum get the #2 seed. Those are my main hopes. I love the distance the Rockets have given themselves from their current spot to the #3 seed this early in the season. That's my main focus now.
As a basketball fan, I think GS vs OKC is definitely the most intriguing matchup. So many storylines and as we've already seen, somewhat unpredictable. As for the Rockets though, I'm gonna quote the great Ric Flair and say, "To be The Man, you got to beat The Man". The 2nd championship team definitely did that, it ran through the top 4 teams in the NBA. I'm most concerned with team health at the end of season, especially for CP3 and Harden's energy level. However at full health, this team is incredible to watch and if we are truly chip-worthy, we're gonna run through everyone.
aside from GS, none of these other teams scare me right now...I’m very confident in this squad we are the closest thing to GS when it comes to dominating and overwhelming opponents I guess the non-GS team I would want to face the least is SA if Kawhi is healthy...they just always find a way and always seem to outperform us in the clutch...they always make the big plays all these other teams are either too flawed (OKC, Portland, Memphis, and New Orleans), too inexperienced (Denver, Minny), or just flat out not on our level (every team except for GS)
Very well said. Amazing how the narriative switches week to week in the NBA. Few weeks ago looked as if the clippers were a darkhorse
Seeding does not matter. Rockets will be like Clint Eastwood in the movie, “The Outlaw Josie Wales” Jamie: “Whopped them again, didn’t we Josie (Rockets)”
We will have to beat the Spurs and then the Warriors, that is the likely path to the final. We are more talented than the spurs on paper but they are still very hard to beat in a 7 game series.
i really don't see the point of this thread. still way, I mean WAY TOO EARLY it hasn't been 20 games into the season yet.
yeah i feel confident too. its more me wanting the toughest path for golden state if we were able to meet them in the conference finals
I always just assumed that GS would be the 1st seed as usual, but man, is it time to start thinking that we may end up with a better record than them? Am I crazy for thinking this? We have a 1.5 game lead on them now, and we’re looking straight up dominant. We face GS 2 more times this season, and both of those games are at home. If we win just 1 of them then we’d own the tie-breaker. GS has never had to open up a series on the road since they became a contender.
Its how we HAVE to think. Lets be fair nobody outside of the spurs and warriors really scare me. So getting that first seed would be HUGE for the playoffs. Letting the psurs and GS battle it out in the 2nd round would be real big. (kind of how spurs and clippers batteled it out before we took lac out in the epic comeback) If i had to pick 2 other western conference teams i would love to see on the other side of the bracket, i would have to agree with most ppl here and say the thunder. They have the wildcard of having 3 superstars so they can take us out in a series if things went their way. The wolves also but they dont play defense. And if healthy definitely denver. We are on a roll now, getting better daily it seems, and have great chemistry. Theres a train coming through and many teams are in the way, time to run them the **** over
I was just writing something in these line in the game thread. If I was forced to bet money, I'd still put on the Warriors, given similar odds. But we simply have to push them until the end. The tiebreaker can come our way, we are playing great. It's safe to assume the Warriors will, eventually, go on a long win streak. Let's make them earn the 1st seed. The Spurs will cruise through the regular season and should finish with the 3rd best record, if they're 100% come playoff time, we must try our best to avoid them. It'd be twice perfect: not having to face them, and watching the bloodbath between the Wariors and the Spurs. Looooong way to go, but it's getting harder and harder not to be overconfident right now.
Still would hate to run into Memphis in the first round. People are assuming they are out of the playoff running this early but they really are only 6 wins behind 8th. They can make that up in 2018 when Conley gets back. I kind of hope they blow up their team soon; but at the same time they would be our ideal first round opponent for the Warriors
Memphis is literally last in the West right now and their record just continues to get worse by the time Conley comes back they could be close to 20 games under .500... they would probably have to be at least .500 to make the playoffs...
