Well, we had at least some discussion about Arceneaux a couple of weeks ago. At the time I was dissapointed about his overall production and shooting numbers so far this year. I was expecting a Xavier McDanial/ Hersey Hawkins type numbers (e.g. close to, if not scoring 30 a game) and was disappointed not to see it (did those guys have advantagous rules, I can't remember??). Someone at the time thought he was fighting minor injuries and that is why his game was off. I just checked, and all his numbers are up--scoring, rebounding, blocks, asists, etc. What is most impressive is his FT, FG and 3 %'s are all above .80, .50 and .40, respectively. That is quite impressive for a guy you have to think they other teams are trying to limit, even if the comp isn't so tough. Maybe he is starting to turn it around, I would certainly want to take a serious look at him, I love his Spree-like hops and quickness for a guy his size, that is for sure. You put that together with his shooting touch (even if it is only good, not great), you may have quite player. Does anyone know if he really is 6'6" or 6'7"? often college guys get exaggerated in height.
matt, actually david aldridge said we would have 20 mil. in 2001, so our future is looking rosy. ------------------ "Don't they get cable in Canada ?" Keith olbermann, after watching hakeem block terry catledge's shot 5 times.
Ok, so Arceneaux is still getting it done up in Ogden. I haven't heard his name mentioned on espn this year. Even if his production had slipped due to injury, I say grab him anyway based on what he did last year. Remember how we were able to get Kenny Thomas in the bottom half of the first round because of his injury plagued senior year. It's as if everyone forgot how much ass he kicked his junior year. I'm hoping Weber St has a disappointing year and the guy gets overlooked. And as far as his suspect height and suppossed defensive weakness goes, similar criticisims were made of one Charles Barkley way back when. Arceneaux has skills, period. I feel he can at a minimum help the Rocks next year and maybe even be a great player one day. In the words of Rudy T, when questioned about drafting Robert Horry, "I just have a special feeling about him". Anyway, I've got about a dozen ant traps and I'm about to throw the smack down up in here. As for Utah Jazz Boy, there will be consequences and reprecussions. ------------------ 94 Finals, Game 7, Starks for 3... CLANG!!!
