I'd think a player like Dirk Nowitzky would have at least explored the option of Houston.

If we signed Dirk, and then matched Chandler, I would probably buy a flight to Houston and run a marathon downtown, naked, yelling "I love Morey!!"

Cuban has always talked about Dirk being his guy and how he would definitely be a Mav for life, finish his career there, etc. I don't recall him wavering on this at all.

Good move, too. That fake loyalty saved him about $30 over the next three years.

Nowitski was an idiot to fall for it, but that's his problem.

This has never made sense to me. Melo is from NYC, won an NCAA title in NY and has always wanted to play for the Knicks. He is completely. Just because he's getting max money should not alter that fact. Hakeem was just as shrewd a negotiation with the Rickets

Melo is loyal to his hometown. This talked that he shouldn't play there is hypocritical for anyone who says dirk is being loyal or dream was. He's like 3-5 yrs younger than them when they finally won

    And Melo isn't bailing either

It's called loyalty. Something Morey doesn't give to any of his players.

Didn't the mavs renounce all there free agents in order to make the parsons offer sheet...which means dirk is free right?..just like Vince carter was..even after agreeing to a deal with the mavs..he found a better deal because he got impatient..get on the phone morey
