Just out of curiosity, can the Knicks buyout the full contract and pay him 54 million or is that not an option right now?

Knicks have no incentive to just fully pay him out. Knicks gotta get something out of it as in a discount probably would have to be a fairly big one.

That's just called waiving or releasing a player. A buyout is negotiating a reduction in salary due as part of waiving him.

I assume Melo has the common clause that if waived prior to picking up his player option, it automatically kicks in, as if he exercised it.

He is playing games. It's not even a question. If he wasn't he would just be straightforward about what he's been told. But I get it.. you guys like him and like playing his games. That's fine. I just find the whole charade annoying because now entire threads will be derailed by people trying to interpret what he said with their own guesses instead of discussing straightforward information.

they could. Typical the point of the buy out is the team gets a discount for letting the player go early.

Yet I'm not the one whining about deciphering simple clues. You keep on staying classy.

Oh really? Tell me exactly what Codman was saying. Not vague generalities like "something about Milwaukee and Detroit".

Tell me specifically what he was saying.

The Melo trade may involve more than just Rockets and Knicks. Milwaukee and/or Detroit may help facilitate. Ryno could be retained (confirmed by Morey no less). Noah could be moved in this proposed trade.

It's really not that hard man.

You understand that Codman speaks in code because he HAS to, right?? His job would literally be jeopardized if his bosses found out he was on here giving people inside info. So instead of b****ing about a guy who's kind enough to still fill us in even though he's straight up fighting for his life, just be appreciative that we have people on here who are willing to go above and beyond.

I can't believe people here fall for such nonsense. If it's true that he is privy to information that could get him in trouble with his bosses if he leaked it, do you honestly think these little riddles are any real defense? Do you think his bosses would be like "oh, never mind, he didn't leak anything because he's speaking in riddles. We're totally cool with that".

That's absurd. Y'all need to use your brain and not be so gullible.

@Codman Did this expansion of Melo's list take you by surprise or were you aware of it? What's your confidence level now?

    Thanks for your thoughts...

Well, Codman did say something about us keeping Anderson. Looks like that part may pan out.

If you can get them to throw Courtney, who is not a bad 3pt shooter, it would be less a blow for rox.
Snow you need to chill da fuq out yourself dude. He just suggesting a throw in ...
