Do you have to be a dick? If you don't like it, don't read it. He stated his reason on why he has to be cryptic and his post has the main parts to know where we're at in the trade update.
There is no way in hell that a Mike D'Antoni team gets rid of its two best shooters, Ryan Anderson & Eric Gordon. Gordon is here to stay.
This. There was talk awhile back that NY would take Melo for Ryno if they could dump Noah on basically anyone. Maybe a third team takes Noah if a pick is included or we have to include someone like Gordon. So something like Milwaukee in Noah, Gordon, Hou in Melo, Greg Monroe NY in Ryno Just an example Monroe has been rumored to be moved for years. Detroit in Noah, Gordon Hou in Melo, Reggie Jackson NY in Ryno Just another example as Jackson has been rumor involved to be moved too. I didn't check the trade machine and obviously NGtds and picks etc. Point is to get this done you might need to move a very good player like Gordon for a lesser player like Monroe or Jackson to get the original Melo for Ryno deal complete.
If the Knicks can unload Noah, that's a coup for them. If the Rockets can land Melo without giving up anyone in the starting lineup (sans Anderson) and Gordon, that's a coup for them. I assume the 2020 pick will have to be included to make this work. Gotta give up something to get these other teams involved. Really struggling with the Codman implication that Anderson won't be moved, though. From a numbers standpoint, it seems like you'd have to be talking about a combination of Gordan and Tucker or Ariza to even make the salaries work. And as far as I understand multi-team deals, each individual deal needs to be worked out between 2 teams, meeting all of the trade rules and cap restrictions to pull it off. I just can't see how Anderson stays unless there's a buyout somehow. And if that's the case, is Melo taking a huge paycut?
Shirley, a deal would (essentially) be Rino/EGo - - Melo/(the carcass once known as)Noah. Who sez 'no'? I'd guess DM the GM already has uh, nixed that deal.
Trading Gordon would be insanity. Could make a legit case that he was our best two-way player last year. Was great defensively.
Seriously. How could you break up a CP3, Harden, Gordon guard combo? There is not a chance in hell that Morey or D'Antoni would entertain that, unless we were getting Klay Thompson or some ****.
Losing Gordon would sting. But Potato makes it sounds like Morey is under some pressure from CP3 to get this done.
Gordon isn't ON the table, but he's been asked to be a guest in a few instances. Like Ry, Morey invested in him on purpose for this offense and culture around James. He's a valuable asset that NYK wants a look at, if they have to get rid of Melo/BrokenFace/FullCourtJumper
That deal doesn't work. Can't send out Gordon and ryno and take back melo and noah, even including capela wouldn't be enough. Hard cap
These deals don't work either. Can't take back two max deals unless we send out ryno, Gordon and ariza plus non guaranteed.
Just don't see Morey doing that. The main attraction about adding Melo is that he is essentially a better Ryan Anderson. Don't lose anything.
I completely agree with you. That's why I think throwing Gordon into the deal is a desperate measure and a last resort for Morey.
I see what you are saying, but Morey won't trade Gordon to take crap back. It would be better to take no Salary Back than crap. Just because we can say, look we got something back, we can't forget what we are facing in salary. When you consider the benefit of reducing salary in order to pay Paul next year possibly without going into luxury, then we get our full MLE next yr and ability to do SnTs. That flexibility is worth much more than crap players. If the better trade is taking no one back vs crap back simply to reduce salary then that should show you how weak any trades with Gordon are. We'd need a 1st Round Pick back or a high value contract for Morey to trade both him and Ryno So, if you can agree that we will be in tax territory next yr without the big MLE or SnT, then trading Gordon for no salary looks like this Out. Ryno, EGo In: Melo, FRP, Full MLE, SnT Ability Vs Out: Ryno, EGo In: Melo, crap like Monroe, No Full MLE or SnT Or even the original plan Out: Ryno In: Melo, No Full MLE or SnT
You don't respect anything or anybody, do you? It's general knowledge about the fight that Cod has been waging. You could care less about this. In fact, the moment he comes back..... Also, his inside info....and, yes, the riddles that go with it, are a big part of what has made our home special for so long. So, why don't you buck up, shut the **** up, and get with the program. Soulless (and clueless) a$$hole!
if it goes with throwing in capela, i'm fine with that. we can grab another big that finishes lobs plus he's looking to get a big payday this coming offseason. We won't have money for that trying to fit our new big 3 plus lebron.
