Dwight for sure. Only reason to think Ibaka is because he makes $12.5MM/year compared to Dwight's $22.5MM/year.

The real question is who would you take considering their salaries.

In a vacuum, Dwight is the better player. I am not saying otherwise.

I think OKC would have to give more to get this done.

Ibaka, Perkins, 21st pick and future unprotected first for Howard

Perhaps package TJ, 21st and 25th to move into late lotto to stash Saric.

Lin and Asik's trade value would go up without needing to feed the post. Could flip one or both at deadline for assets.

Wasn't Lin one of the best drivers in the first half of the season? And he was top 20 in catch and shoot? I think he would become an asset again. Same with Asik getting more minutes again.

So this season it would be:
    Bev/Lin
    Harden/Daniels
    Parsons/Saric?
    Ibaka/Dmo
    Asik/Perkins

Trade Asik, Lin for assets if you want during the deadline.

Next offseason: max space...sign Love? Resign Parsons. And you have so many assets still.

Ibaka/love/parsons/harden/bev are all 25ish. Is that a contender?

But as one of the options in poll indicates, this will probably never get entertained. Howard played very well in the playoffs. No complaints there. Do not confuse creating a thread to discuss this as meaning that Howard is not good.

dwight was our best player in the playoffs. ibaka can never avg 26ppg in a playoff series, even a regular season series. how is this even a question?

ibaka is a role player, howard is an all star. u dont build around ibaka. you put him next to someone like dwight

ibaka all the way. sure dwight might be a better defender, but ibaka is not bad at it, can shoot better, space floor better, does not need the ball as much (post-ups), younger. and i think he would fit this team a lot better. i love how dwight carried the team when they needed it in the playoffs, but ibaka is just the better fit in terms of the system they play.

I'll only take Ibaka if I have somebody like Durant or LBJ to pay. Even then, I'll still take Duncan between Ibaka or Howard, even at his age provided he's paid non-max.

Can you imagine if Dwight Howard put up only 6 points 2 board in a playoff game? Hell, in ANY game lol.

In a game of chess, Ibaka is a bishop and Dwight is a queen.

All Pop did was put fatso out on the court and since Ibaka can't switch across to Duncan, it basically removed Ibaka from the equation by dragging him out to the perimeter, which is basically what we did in last year's playoffs, and Miami does every time it rolls out Lebron at the 4; and since Ibaka has no post game, you don't even get punished for it.
