Would love to keep Asik and Lin. I don't see any reason to be in a hurry to trade them. I definitely don't see a need to get another max contract type of player. If Asik is dead set against being a backup then I understand making a move. If we do trade Asik, I would rather get a couple of good veteran players for depth rather than try to get another star player. I think either TJones or DMo will break out this year and be a solid PF. We can always make trades at some point in the future if we need to.
Parsons is definitely a nice player and a bargain for his salary but a max salary guy? cmon.. Im pretty sure that with Dwights arrival Parsons production will drop too and people will turn on him quickly.
I would like a pf that can space the floor. This gives more room down low for a pick and roll with lin/howard, harden/howard, and howard post ups. The guys we have (motie/tjones) arent capable floor spacers yet. My ideal pf's would be ryan anderson with delfino as his backup. Im also good with another year with lin and beverley driving the bus.
I agree completely. I just don't see Lin being able to perform under the pressure of the playoffs. I know the last 2 years, he's been injured during the playoffs but still. I think he'll fold like a deck of cards playing in a 7 game series versus Westbrook, Parker, Paul, etc. I guess we'll see. Hoping for the best, expecting the worst.
I'd love for us to keep Lin. However, we do need to o something about our PF, and Asik is our most valuable trade asset and the only person we can afford to give away. You guys have to keep in mind our realistic goal now is a championship, which means we need to have proven contributors in our rotation. I doubt Morey is going to want to see if Jones or DMo can become that. And no, neither of them have shown they are ready yet.
really? you can see the future? money aint got no owners, just crazy gms willing to spend on al jefferson giving him 13 mil a year. It's not out of the realm, with parsons still growing sexier each day as a player, that he will be in high demand. On his production going down....with the addition of Howard, the stickyness is going to dry up, which means more good looks for everyone. How many times did we get out rebounded when asik left the floor? those are lost points, but now with a great center for all 48 minutes, no manimal is getting by untamed. October 30th can't get here fast enough!
Isn't Battier a small forward? Would still love to have him back though. Would also love to keep Lin and Asik. I really liked how Asik developed this season and while I am happy to have Howard I wouldn't have minded if we kept the same team from last year.
Poor Asik, because he was crucial for us last season. But his skill set overlaps and he is much easier to trade than Lin.
One thing I do like about Lin, is the chemistry he had with Tyson Chandler. Dwights a far superior player as well.
