I would love to see Rasho Nesterovic play backup Center to Yao

He has some rings for a reason, but now I guess it's too late to get him. I suggested the signing 2 summers ago, he's experienced, has size, plays hard and though, does a nice job in the paint, and offensively knows how to play the game, not a special talent but a experienced player with high IQ, a good passer, a good shooter, sets good screens, plays well off the ball... A Popovich player.

Last years has dropped his level significantly.

 

I would try to use the 14th pick to try to get Thiago Splitter rights from San Antonio. Scola´s old teammate has now a Top 3 status in europe and has accomplished some of Scola accolades ACB MVP.
Maybe, after what happened with Scola, the Spurs might be unwilling to do the trade straight up (Splitter for the 14th) given that they don´t really need any of these years Draftees (yeah, they are not getting another DeJuan Blair) they would be most likely asking for some big in return, given Popovich long and quite unsuccessfull Bonner experiment regarding 3pt shooting bigs, Andersen could be his up and coming project and i would be very willing to trade Andersen and our 14th pick for Splitter rights and their 20th pick, they might also include a resigned Bonner (good player on meaningless games) or Mahinmi (Big Athletic Questionmark).
I am so high on Splitter that i would also consider trading only for Splitter rights and Bonner/Mahinmi even if they don´t want to include their 20th.

 

You do realize you're not the only one who's high on Splitter, right? He's no secret. You're assuming the spurs will hand him over for less than he is worth, even possibly throwing in theor 20th pick for the "bonus" of DA? No way. The reason they traded Scola was because they are so high on splitter. They basically gave up on Scola to wait for Tiago. No way are they letting him go for the 14th, especially to Houston after we stole Scola for peanuts.
