I would like everyone's opinion on this story. Plus you get to play a cop

heyp, what spite? How about firing her for delivering terrible customer service?

I'm trying to imagine the anti-customer version. Maybe the customer came in at 5:05 like the wall clock said, and she was verbally abusive from the moment she walked in the door. Maybe the employee called the cops to keep the argument from escalating to physical violence. Even then, the employee should not have been trying to assess a late fee over a 5 minute delay.

I am going based on the premise of her cell phone being accurate bc she had not tampered with it. Also she called the police at 5:01 after arguing for a few minutes, 5:05 was time on the wall clock when she arrived. HPD would have that phone call documented with the correct time. Simply asking customers about how long the argument lasted would give the cop an idea of what time she got there. He could make a report based on that and walk away. Not much else he can do.

I was talking about the OP's source...not the manager. The OP refused to state the name of the business because he thought the staff member who told him would get fired.

the source did not deliver terrible customer service...the manager did. The OP is trying to protect his source...and I'm saying he exposed her after the opening post. He chose to expose her...not us. And his worry about her getting fired is equally misguided. She can't get fired for this without a lawsuit that will at least reinstate her right to unemployment compensation.

not sure what you are saying. My previous post is completely correct.

I guess I was operating on the assumption that the source was also the offending employee, but I see that need not be the case. So never mind.

In any case, workers getting paid a pittance as an asistant in a veterinarian office do not sue for wrongful termination when they get fired. They just take it. So I find your scenario of a manager suffering blowback from a vindictive termination highly unlikely, unfortunately.

No need to assume whether the cell phone time is accurate or inaccurate. Should be simple enough to hit the internet for the most accurate time and see what the correct time is. If the policeman cared about who was actually correct, and was tech savvy enough to check, he could check this once he got there.

As already mentioned the store manager was an idiot.
