MDA needs to adjust as well. If Morey gets him guys that can actually be useful he has to play them. If for no other reason than to have them ready to get meaningful mins come playoff time.
If we improve the roster at all over last season we are still looking very good. Just upgrade 2 or 3 guys.
You're not gonna like it but it's prob a cp3 5 year max, with matching Cap's max followed by picking up DeAndre Jordan on a MLE. We'll likely lose Ariza and Luc. We can still win the title (provided the Warriors don't get even better, which they likely will) but completely relying on an aging CP3 not to get injured in the playoffs are going to be tough.
If LBJ doesn't happen, I'd be fine with mostly going with what we had this year. Re-sign Paul and Capela. Find anyway possible to remove Ryan Anderson and use any savings to add to the depth. I would like to add a more solid backup PG. This team won 65 games and took the 2-time defending champs to 7 games. A healthy Paul and a playoff lineup that can go more than 6 deep will be a top contender again.
1. Leborn 2. PG 3. AD 4. Cousion 5. Marc gasol 5. Kevin love 5. Kawaii 5. LA 6. Jordon 7. Raptors big 2 8. Anthony 9. Rudy gay 10. Paul gasol 11. D Howard
We only went to more iso one on one scoring vs the warriors. Vs everyone else we primarily run iso pick and roll. Gs can take away the lob so we had to exploit mismatches. Just a variation in the offense. Vs everyone else iso pick and pop and iso pick and roll. Anderson was starting to click in second unit with cp3 with the pick and pop 3s. His court gravity was tremendous. Then he had to go sprain his ankle and it ruined the rotation. When we went one on one during the season it was either to run clock /2 for 1s or james harden slowing everything down being james harden. People heard iso ball so much late in the playoffs they dont really understand what that means and the variations. Got alot of people talking out their @$$ about what the rockets due on offense as of late.
Ugh we played 10 deep all year. We lost 2 key rotation pieces and our other 2 notable bench players werent good matchups for gs. You people forget so fast. We ran 10 deep all year. 11 if you count tarik black
Lol wut? We arent resigning capela and adding jordan. Thats ridiculous. Jordan isnt opting out of over 20 million dollars to sign with is with the tax payer exception for 5 million. Let ariza AND luc walk? Youve lost your mind. And no even if what you said happened exactly we would no longer be able to beat golden state. Adding nothing and losing 2 wing switching defenders wed be done.
I seriously doubt if Deandre will agree to this arrangement. If Tyreke agrees to sign up with the MLE( I doubt if he will do it), it will be a boost for our Houston Rockets.
It's whoever we can get for Ryno. That's the backup plan. Would ariza willing to give up the amount of money we offer vs GSW? The landing spots for Lebron, Kawhi and PG will dictate how teams are willing to trade and no trade. If those 2 out of 3 joined Lakers there may be teams in the east willing to trade picks for win now mode. There maybe a need for Ryno service. Cavs maybe looking to trade love for picks...etc
GS can only offer him 5 million per season. lmao why are people still talking about this like its some possibility. Its just trying to get a few more dollars out of houston just like iguodala last year where morey knew he was going back to GS and made them pay more.
Unless moving Ryno results in a clear upgrade, I would not move him at the cost of sending multiple first round picks as has been reported . This time next year, Anderson will be a valuable expiring contract, if nothing else.
I'm just curious - who could we possibly trade Ryno for that wouldn't be a clear upgrade? I can't think of anyone.
Rockets need the 4th pick, if all else's fails. Chris Paul and LeBron James, Paul George don't sign. I think Rockets need a 2nd Star in the Draft.
