Without CB4 it would have been Rockets/Bulls '96. Who knows? Maybe our rings wouldn't be tainted to outsiders.

If you are trying to assert that without Barkley we would have made it to the finals, I have to disagree. We could not beat the Sonics. They had just swept us the year before Barkley came and with Barkley we DID beat the Sonics and had the Jazz on the ropes before Barkley torn his bicep muscle and had to sit the rest of the series.

Bottom line is that without Barkley we would never made it that far.

BTW - who cares what outsiders think.;)

That whole "tainted to outsiders" thing is fading as fast as the memory of a dominant Michael Jordan.

The fact of the matter is that yes Seattle did have our number before Barkley. But we had Utah's number before aquiring Barkley. We were never able to handle Utah after the trade. The aquisition of Kevin Willis would have been enough to overtake the Sonics in my opinion. The Big 3 Rocks were never cohesive and looking back, it's amazing how they were able to win as much as they did with no chemistry and 3 players wanting the rock in the same block. Barkley was a chump when we were kicking his but in Phoenix and didn't do anything to warrant the trade once he arrived. I like Charles as a person but on the court he never knew what it took. It sickened me almost every time he waved Dream from the low block.

A dominant MJ never fades. And the tainted thing is alive and well. My job sends me to numerous cities and I always have to endure a "what if?" when discussing Twoston. Never friggin fails. Personally, I think that we could have taken 'em. I'm sure most of you feel the same. But, we'll never know.....................

in case you didn't know..i kinda liked Max! :) i liked him the first time i saw him play for the rocks..he brought a spark to the team that lasted through the first championship year...

but drexler was an infinitely better player...and max ultimately quit on the team. if he could have put his ego aside, he would have been an amazing bench player. but then, of course, he wouldn't have been Vernon Maxwell any longer.
