We are seeing individual development, but the coaching on this team is awful. Silas just doesn’t have the chops, it almost seems he’s there to ensure another top pick. Next season, with a young core in place and cap space available, he will be replaced by a competent head coach.
While I don't disagree with you here, this is the direction the league has gone over the past decade. It's a product of the rules and the advantage perimeter players have over defenders that have gotten us to this point. There isn't a team in the league running a Princeton, a triangle offense, or a motion offense. It's all 4 or 5 out. It's to the point where even 7 footers spend more time camped outside the 3 point line than in the paint. .... and it's all about marketing "stars."
The timeline has been what it is since the day Harden asked for a trade - the end of Westbrook's contract (which turned into John Wall's who has the same expiration date). That's the end of this season. That also coincides with the transfer of draft assets to OKC for the Westbrook trade ..... The franchise cannot afford to be bad beyond this season. Seem's like maximizing your window of bad is critical to the future. This year we have nearly as much dead money ($62,203,370) as we have actual salary ..... $73,527,098. Nothing has changed. The timeline is still the same as it was the day Harden left Houston for the disaster that was Brooklyn. The coming offseason when they have up to $87m in cap space to add veteran talent to this squad and get back to contending.
They need to cut Nix before he hits another 3 and they get bad ideas about his future. Honestly, what does he do well?
Nope. Anthony Davis needed a hof in lebron to carry his a$$ when he gets injured to even finish a season. Trading your assets for a player made out of glass isn't worth the risk
i just can't wait to see a thread titled as 'Silas Losing the Locker Room', that would make me sleep as soundly as a little babeeeeee
That’s true. I’m not sure what move we could make to significantly improve next year. DeAaron Fox? Lmao
Yeah when I saw that deal I thought it was a typo. Not sure who is responsible for it, but I know who will be blamed when they have to trade KPJ with draft picks to get rid of it. Rafael Stone!!
It’s because KPJ basically said that Coach Silas saved his life. Therefore, he is probably the only person on the team that truly shows Coach Silas respect and deference. I am sure when Silas gets his next two coaching jobs, KPJ will be on his staff.
