Wow! That's pretty decent of you, man. Have you seen the documentary by Morgan Spurlock, Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden? I suggest that everyone watch that documentary. You'll be surprised by how much we have in common with the people on the other half of the planet.
i have been unable to attend the LWI events the last 2 years!!!!! chris is a fraternity brother of mine. a friend from college. we used to play NBA Jams together at the Pizza Hut in Waco i sound like i'm name-dropping...but i'm just sincerely proud of him..and proud to call him a friend. so encouraged by his story.

that's funny...chris is the son of baptist preachers and got his degree at baylor! the influence you see there isn't catholic but anglican...looks similar. a few people who left the episcopal church are on their elder board..or at least they were. and that has influenced their service. i grew up in the episcopal church and was an altar boy. i have been in the methodist, presbyterian, and inter-denominational churches. there is sooo much beauty in all of them i think. i find ecclesia to be a place of refuge for me...it was after an awful church split i was involved in, and it remains that. my church meets on sunday evenings...so i have the mornings free, and sometimes that means a trip to ecclesia for their morning services. the pictures of the children drinking fresh water for the first time from their new wells in place of where stained glass windows might be is beyond beautiful to me.
Lot of "peace by unto you and also to you" lining up to tear from a single loaf and drink from a single cup stuff goin' on... I got some free beard in my "blood of Christ" one Sunday...
to be that again.....please. wow. just amazing. that's what fires me up more than anything. of all the issues we talk about here...that's the one. to be a church like the one in Acts 2, again. to be that influence in this America. i hope.
Sometimes I am just so encouraged by you guys...i sit here smiling and shaking my head and nodding all at once. I love Ecclesia; it truly is unlike any church I've been too. I felt that way when I visited Mars Hill in Michigan as well. My faith has been so renewed in the past year. I'm interested in Chris Seay's new NT translation, haven't gotten around to reading it yet.
