We can start by closing the damn border first and then deport all the damn criminal illegal aliens. If anyone has a problem with that than they’re just full of shiit.
I think he would have done MUCH better. Well spoken. Seems very on point with things. (I just couldn't with the constant strained laughing from Harris) Gay but not in your face about it. Looks like a true diplomat. Has done well in position after a tough start with Covid complicating things. I did not vote for either candidate (write in), but probably would have for him, if his policies were in line with mine.
Ukraine has funding for almost a full year. But like Afghanistan, it's hard to ask Ukrainians to die with the ventilator unplugged..
There could be. There is often unrest and violence when apprehending criminals. It doesn't mean we give up on the concept. So less than we have sent to Ukraine? Possibly. Possibly not. Maybe people on welfare and the homeless will have to work and there will be a reduction in government spending. Less government spending means less inflation. I think inflation would be likely as there may be wage increases to get people into jobs, but if there is a contemporaneous reduction in subsidizing the unemployed (those who don't work, don't eat) there is a natural pool of native workers available. That already happened. It didn't work. It just reset the counter on how many people are considered illegal immigrants. It didn't slow down illegal immigration, it is higher than ever. I suspect so as well. Not because it is impossible, but because many monied interests prefer the system the way it is.
Trump tried to make those terrible things happen and failed. That doesn't it's a good idea to give him another chance. If a corrupt CFO tries to embezzel from a company but fails, it might not be the beat idea to rehire the CFO. Especially if the CFO is a fascist.
Bingo....the delusion a lot of libs have that their life will now be ruined and a fascist will be in charge was always absurd.
I despise him with all my being but as long as my life does not get impacted in a major way, I will just have to shrug it off, I guess. But so help me, if he tries to do away with tenure for teachers and other things that affect MY career and MY livelihood, then there will be problems.
I'm sorry - I misspoke, the estimates are that it would be just shy of a TRILLION dollars to do. I don't know how much the Ukraine war total cost will be - and a trillion dollars isn't what it used to be, but it is still a lot of money. Maybe we can get the money from Mexico when they pay us for the border wall. I suspect that we will see crack downs on immigrations and deportations will go up - but I cannot see tens of millions of illegal aliens being removed.
Tomorrow I shall wake up and be back to normal Today it just feels like you woke up and found out a cousin died Not too close a cousin but not a stranger Probably not going to the funeral Rocket River
Or they'll do what JD Vance said they were already going to do, which was deport those with criminal records (particularly violent ones) firsr.
I think the questions are 1. Could have motivated more Democrats people to actually come out to vote 2. Could have turn any republicans 3. Could he have not stimulated the republicans to come out for protest votes. Rocket River
Your feelings about YOUR career and YOUR livelihood are exactly why Trump won. 93,000 people in Pennsylvania work directly in the oil and natural gas industry. Another 330,000 Pennsylvanian jobs are indirectly related to oil and gas. They don't want their livelihoods negatively effected. They aren't all wealthy oil barons. They are middle class Americans that want to keep their lifestyle just like you do with your teacher tenure, etc. They voted for their own interests just like most people do. It's real easy to sacrifice other people's careers....
Trump has said a lot of things, that is what he does - he talks a lot - including building a border wall across the USA that Mexico will pay for - and he said he would target 15-20 million illegals to be deported. He said that he will deport them so fast that he will not need housing camps.... so I am going to be very curious if he keeps this promise and does indeed deport 15-20 million people in the USA so fast that there is no need for housing camps. That is awful ambitious - and I am curious to see if he actually tries to do it - if he succeeds and what the public response will be to losing the population of New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston and nearly Dallas combined....... the cost of goods and services will go up, but there should be lots more housing for people.
I don't really care about my life, I know I"m good. Other than Trump being a stain that I had to listen to constantly from 2016-2020 if I turned on the news or any type of media, my life was okay. The difference is, I have empathy for those marginalized groups who will get impacted by his policies. Whether it's the immigrants he claims he wants to deport, or the trans people who feel in danger etc. That's the main difference between Republicans and Democrats, one group has empathy, the other doesn't.
This - people can take stands on issues that do not impact them financially or their standard of living...... but when you get down to it - in the privacy of the voter's booth, people will vote for self-interest. Democrats and Republican politicians that get this win - those that do not, lose. It is why a lot of Americans may not like Republicans on reproductive rights, or even other social issues - but Republican candidates in general understand that at the end of the day it is the economy - and the environment, trans rights, gay rights - women's rights all aren't enough if you don't understand the economics of Americans.
How the GOP brainwashed Americans into believing they are good for the economy needs to be studied by future social scientists after the end of the American hegomonic era.
