    Depressing.

Thought we would be competing for some right now.

There's a scrub there named Larry Robinson who screwed up the picture by standing up next to the commisioner.
Basically the Hasheem Thabeet/Johnny Flynn guy.

I was 29 when we won the first title. After 3 years where the Oilers knocked on the door only to be turned away by the steel curtain in the 70's ans early 80's......after Jim Kelly and the Houston Gamblers teased us.......after three tries with Phi Slamma Jamma where I was so involved losing to Jordan and NC my freshman year, NC State on the stupid buzzer beater, and that fiasco in Seattle when the only the 3 players not bombed from the night before showed up to play my junior year and we lost a 2nd time when we should have won...... after 2 finals appearances by the Rockets in the 80's......for them to finally bring a title to Houston felt like the weight of the world was lifted and it was the first time you could feel true pride to be a fan of Houston Sports. Funny thing was, most of us back then knew if we ever got there in the 90's, we would win the title because we were a match up nightmare for every team in the east except for the Knicks. We just could not get past Seattle to get out of the west. I'll bet the Bulls sent thank you cards to Seattle each time we got knocked out.

At least Dynamos won two championships. But we still won Eastern Conference Champion last year. I can feel Dynamo will win another championship soon because we have good players on the roster.

LOL! I know. And I dont think Hakeem looks too comfortable that he is holding him like he is his big brother.

Les Alexander asking Bob Costas who he is.

No, he was asking Bob why he was so biased in his reporting during the series. Costas (serious Knicks fan) looked like he was about to cry announcing the Rockets were the champs!!

Hey, that Lakers series ranks as one I'll never forget, despite the eventual loss. Say what you will about Aaron Brooks and Ron Artest, that amazing pass from World Peace (I'll never get used to that) to Brooks, and what little Brooks did with it, considering the context of the game, remains one of the more memorable plays I've seen in many a year from a Rockets team. I was on my feet and screaming in my living room. My neighbors were probably wondering if someone was being murdered in my house. Thank god, they didn't call the police or EMS! ;-)-

I'm not sure I understand this.

Why would it taste so much sweeter? All the guys I've rooted for since 96 are either retired or gone to another team.

Maybe all this talk of greed, business, and assets (plus age) has made me less attached to the league.

I hope you are able to experience what us old foggie Rockets fans did. As I have been saying, we just need to take a season and hope to draft a number one pick. No stars want to come here now. Blame it on Les since he took his foot off the pedal after those two championships. *sigh*
