That would be my question too. I wouldn't mind sacrificing a few wins in the regular season. (Some great coaches actually do that in order to shape the team into the best form for the playoffs.) I think the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back last season was the playoffs. The coaching staff was actually doing not too bad during the season. But it was painfully obvious that we were out-coached in losing to Portland. Whether it was totally on McHale is not clear. (The argument that Sampson's departure decimated the coaching quality, especially on the defensive side should not be dismissed too easily.) But at the end of the day, I hope Morey does have some answers to how much difference coaching makes in the postseason.
