I want to gain about 25 lbs of muscle for college basketball...

    I have to agree with the idea of focusing on strength over weight. I worked out specifically in areas that would impact my game and I saw big gains in ability with virtually no gain in weight at all. I'd say weight train to add mass but don't push to put it on now. Just do the work and let your body fill out at it's own pace. Over working to gain the mass could slow down gains in other areas.

    Also, you said you wanted to get quicker. Well, adding all that muscle is only going to slow you down even more.
