Can we keep scheduling Rice every year?

Schedules are usually made about 8 years in advance. UT and Arkansas are not scheduled.

Pun, I know you and Hangout Boy have dropped the discussion...but I have to point out that he is right....the Hook em Horns thing is no different from any other hand sign that other colleges do while supporting their team.....the Aggie thing is a good example.

It has always been a thing they do to show support for the team....I dont think it has a thing to do with ragging on other teams fans...

disclaimer: I did not go to UT....but I know a lot of people that did.

Ok..you just proved Pun to be correct. You say the horns is a sign to show support for the team and has nothing to do with ragging the other teams fans. So people that do the horns upside down are just showing they do not support Texas. I don't see where the upside down horn would be any different than hollering Texas Sucks or any other saying that shows a fan opposes Texas.

I guess what I am trying to say is why do you get so upset and make it a huge deal when the horns are turned upside down?????

I'm not sure why or how people can't see the difference between supporting a team and mocking an opposing team, but anyway, I don't think anybody really cares all that much about the "horns down" other than the "horns downers" themselves. Hell, I've seen OU players do it in games where they weren't even playing Texas. Talk about an inferiority complex....

That's almost as bad as mentioning UT in your schools fight song.

Actually, for me, I never cared about ooposing fans doing the inverted horns. I always thought that it was silly of them, and wondered why they didn't have their own good sign. Not like all our fans do an inverted gig'm or a gun pointing down. It would look stupid. And I've never read ANYWHERE in the media where our fans got upset over opposing fans doing inverted horns.

What's classless is when a COACH and PLAYERS on another team do a sign that disrespects the opposing school. What if ... er ... when we beat A&M, could you imagine a shot of Mack running around doing a thumbs-down to the crowd?

Anyway, like I've already stated, it's not that big a deal. So Nutt lacks class, so what? Just makes the game more fun.

    simple.

    I dont.

I couldn't care less..I never went to any of the major colleges...so I have no loyalties to any of them.

but.....what I and RM said is common knowledge to anyone that grew up in Texas around the rivalries that have existed for years.

I didnt setout to "prove him wrong"....all I was doing is affirming a statement made that might have been taken as said thru loyalty to the school involved....I felt that as a impartial observer, that maybe he might take my word for it...but honestly.....it really doesnt matter either way...

believe me....or dont.....doesnt matter to me.
All I was doing is telling the truth as I see it.

Umm... most rational UT fans would be very reluctant to bring up this year's CWS. UT humiliated itself on a national level with Augie and team's sportsmanship. Of course, those in the know already knew UT's baseball was the best example of poor sportsmanship, ethics, legal, and NCAA rules violations. After the CWS, the entire baseball community became familiar.

Anyway, the game tomorrow night should be outstanding. Arkansas was severely depleted by the draft (Cobbs, Peters, Andrews, Bua), but still has Matt Jones and some very good athletes. Arkansas is a tough place to play as well.

 Me and TJ agree on something! Arkansas has a good crowd but even I'll admit it's not even near the capacity and rowdiness of places that Texas plays almost every year, A&M, Nebraska, Oklahoma, etc.

Rice fans talking about class? Was this the same Rice team that taunted the Longhorns after beating them two years ago? That's classy.

People in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks or take showers, cause then everyone figures out why you're so jealous of Texas.

Yeah but they don't even come close to Red Sox fans. Nothing will match a couple of Sox fans noticing each other while vacationing at Walt Disney World and starting up a "Yankees Sucks" chant (I heard that antedote somewhere).

And don't even get me started on North Dakota.

North Dakota never ain't got no nothing. (I'd like to see a pro athelete top that in the multiple negative department)

Edit: BTW Lil Pun, I was just refferring to an inferiority complex in general.
