Haven't gone to college yet, but I'm from Lubbock so naturally I'm a Red Raider fan.

say what you want about OU...A&M...LSU...or even UT.

in my experience, there have been no more classless fans than arkansas fans. seriously...not even close. the inferiority complex is staggering. been to football games and seen it...seen it even worse at basketball games.

i'm not calling you out, personally, Lil Pun. but in my experience, nothing has matched Arkansas fans. i've seen them carry texas flags upside down into arenas at halftime. i've seen them put the horns down sign after beating Texas Southern University...watched their coach do it, too. heard them chant f#$% you, texas at a basketball game, led by cheerleaders...and on and on.

one of my business partners went to OU. he was embarassed by how OU fans acted at the Big XII championship this last year...he explained what embarassed him...paled in comparison to what i've seen from arkansas fans.

i've been embarassed by UT fans at UT games before...jerks...a-holes. i've been embarassed by baylor fans being dorks at games. but i've never, ever seen any of those schools stoop to the level that i've seen arkansas fans stoop to on repeated occassions.

I realize you weren't calling me out personally Max but I just don't think AR fans are as bad as some others but as you said it's from your own, personal experiences so I can see why you would make this judgement.

yeah...don't get me wrong...i'm not saying everyone's like that. my in-laws are big arkansas fans, and they were hugely embarassed by that crap. i've just never personally seen it on that level from any other group.

Actually, I read it in some local Arkansas newspaper. I never saw it on a UT board because I never read any. I don't know what they're saying.

And since I borught up classless, I'll add that I've seen the bad (drunk) UT fans also, but they're in the minority.

I'll explain: the Mob always enjoys halftimes in Austin because the Texas fans can take a good ribbing and appreciate the Mob's wit. Whereas in some other unnamed university in Texas, they can get chased off the field by the fans.

As for the bad UT fans, I did my graduate work at Tech and had some drunk Longhorn fans harass my friends after UT beat Tech. I told them I was an alum and to STFU, and they were so sloshed they didn't even understand what I was saying. More recently (last year), K State fans were leaving the stadium after their loss and again about 4 UT asses started to harass. I worked my way between them and congratulated the K State fans on a damn good game (FWIW, K State has the best fans I've ever seen anywhere).

That said, our coach isn't on the field ridiculing other schools after they lose or allowing our players to jump in opposing team's stands and do the same. It certainly ain't that big a deal ... doesn't even remotely merit the D&D ... but it does make the game much more fun to watch on Saturday. :)

BTW, enjoy the game tomorrow because UT and Arkansas cannot meet (unless in a bowl) for at least 9 years.

And FWIW, next year's tough non-conference game for UT is Ohio State and Arkansas' is USC.

Apparently you are not familiar with that little school up in lubbock....itt tech. This includes more than just the fans, but the players and even the coach.

UT probably has had enough of the whippings the past 3 games.

Mack should avoid all rivalry games like the plague.

    RE: Classless Arkansas fans...

You know, judging by the descriptions posted on this board, I can't say that I'm even embarassed if that's what you call classless. I yell the same things when I'm watching a game at home on TV. UT gets SO bent out of shape if someone does the falopion tubes thing upside down...get over it. It's not that big of a deal. Perhaps everyone would stop doing it if you guys didn't get your panties in a twist every time.

Add to the fact that it's no different when they do it right-side-up when they're blowing somebody out.

Of course it is. They do it to represent the school, not to rub it in the other team's face.

I haven't seen anything personally more classless than last year when the Arkansas fans started a cheer and the band jumped in while one of our players was down.

Quoted for truth. I still remember UT fans chasing down Princeton and North Carolina fans at the NCAA basketball tourney yelling "Your team sucks" while doing that stupid falopian tube hand gesture. I said it at the time, and I'll say it again. UT had the most "holier than thou" fans at the tourney in Denver. Drunkly following fans of other teams around screaming at them, but when someone would bring up Oklahoma owning them, they would get REALLY upset and the profanities would fly about how that person is just classless.

You can't be serious. This is a case of pure hatred for a school clouding your judgement.
