Do most people here not think that the following differences are significant? 1. Ron Artest 2. Healthy Yao 3. No Alston 4. No T-Mac 5. Brooks/Lowry PG combo against: Utah Few minor changes. Is it still fair to use the '90's Sonics or '90's Suns cop-outs? It's become almost cliche. I personally don't want to award a flopping team fighting for 7th place the title of '90's Sonics. Yes, they beat us twice in the regular season. In both games, to avoid the crutch of officiating excuses, Houston made plenty of mistakes. I'm not ready to concede that the Jazz are so much better than us, particularly on the road. We can find a way to win. This is where the differences in opinion occur.
There were a few in '95. And had we lost 4 straight series to Seattle at that time, there would have been quite a few more. I'm not saying we should be scared of the Jazz (I'm not, in fact), but it's understandable.
Good thing the Rockets aren't afraid of those Jazz. Ron Artest and company are not going to back down from anyone. Although, I think the forum members here would make great boxing promoters the way they are trying to duck and dodge the big fight (Jazz) .
The Rockets need to win the last 2 games and not tank one to try to avoid the Jazz which looks like they are doing that by sitting out Yao(hopefully he is not really hurt).. If we face the j*zz in the first round so be it. We cant be bullied all our lives, we need to stand up and get it over with!
precisely: yao will be dried up by Okur's 3 pointers and scola's light body is gonna be blown up by boozer/milsap who are both tons stronger than him. not to mention the matchup at PG.
Since I do not have contributing member status, I thought i'd use this thread to show you guys the JazzFanz.net parody of our ageless "I hate the Jazz" thread. I'm proud to announce that more than one of my comments made them indignant. http://jazzfanz.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=34937&start=25&st=0&sk=t&sd=a Enter at your own peril. They don't really present any decent refutations or come-backs, mostly just angry foot stomping. This is my favorite: Hey, at least they're noticing everyone hates them. Its probably too much to ask for them to figure out why.
I couldn't agree more. All of these people crapping their pants at playing the Jazz. Last year's team would have beaten the Jazz if not for the injuries to Yao and Alston. This year's team is deeper and more athletic and has many more scoring options. They are also mentally tougher. The Jazz talk crap and Deron Williams acts like a big shot but it still took questionable officiating for them to get out of their own building with a W this year. Lets keep everybody healthy, draw Utah in the first round, and hand them their @sses.
This is silly and stupid people. I'd rather lose to a good team in the first round instead of winning it all by avoiding all the good matchups. It's not the same and not fulfilling at all. Besides, the world would see that we were just lucky because we avoided our rivals (j*zz, etc.). With that being said, the atmosphere in the playoffs is different than the regular season. I still believe that our team can step up when the going gets tough. We won't lose against the Jazz this time. Bring it on!
just got up to see the scorebord, jazz is now down by 16points to the warriors , i can't believe my eyes! if they lose today they will be nailed to the 8th spot and they will lose to the lakers so let's keep winning to get the 3rd spot and go all the way to the west finals, go rockets,i'm so happy now.
