forget all the vet pg trades

bring me acuff on a silver platter

    i love reed

but i am ready to move him for acuff

i am willing to give up as much as reed and the nets 27 pick for acuff (and even work with the clips/nets on a s&t of tari if they want)

    reasons

reed is going into his 3rd year
if he becomes great we have to pay him in 2 years
we can only lux tax so many times b4 we have to get under because
    the repeater tax is prohibitive

if reed becomes mid we lose trade value and we are capped out likely still in the tax with less trade flexibility

if reed fails we lose our possible window of contention

i still think reed is going to be great
    still fully believe in him

    but acuff
    acuff is a better prospect
and he would have 4 seasons on rookie scale

    one year tutoring with fred
    then hand him the keys

acuff has that ability to dance with the ball that reed does not have
he can get anywhere on the court and hang out there if he wants with the live dribble

one thing i love about stone, he values LOW TURNOVER% players
    stone understands what i understand
high turnover playmakers make winning a championship odds very very very very very low
    that's why fred is great
    its what makes fred great
    acuff is already that
he already understands the game at a very high level
    bball iq off the charts
acuff has cp3 level bball iq
you can hear him talk it
you can see it in his decision making

    acuff is bigger than fred
but he has that same lower cog
    and he wants to defend
    not worried about his defense
fred is the perfect mentor for him

i don't see anybody in the 27 draft that would be better than acquiring this engine
and i think he may be gettable at 6 or possibly 5

for me in my humble opinion this is the swing i want
not jb or giannis or some other monster trade landlocking both our future assets and our cap flexibility
gimme 4 years of acuff on a rookie deal
there is simply no way he does not perform offensively unless he is injured

and you cannot predict injuries (that is why I am in favor of moving bari in the right deal because we need salary cap and trade flexibility until we can truly compete with the thunder/spurs/knicks/whoever)

    if we cannot acquire acuff

    then

i want ben stirtz on a lesser deal
maybe bari and our lower 27 pick for stirtz and an expiring contract (or just the cap space back)
would be great if it was just bari for stirtz and we get cap space back to work with in free agency
stirtz is a dawg a horse
    plays massive minutes
same qualities acuff has but older
    great shooter
    great playmaker
    pnr savant like acuff
    low to%
    supposedly weak defensively
    i don't care
    he is a dawg
    he will d up
he will learn the defensive end

i do not want to trade for giannis or jb and get sucked into long term big money on guys that either have holes in their game or they are getting older and they have sucked down our assets pile and cap flexibility

none of those proposed trades make any sense

    alpi?

you want to move him when you just seen how to beat wemby?
    ridiculous
alpi is an improved 3 point shot away from giving wemby hell all over the court
    forget moving alpi

make it work around him and amen with shooting, defense, and another playmaker like acuff or stirtz
and keep the rest of our asset pile and cap flexibility

I’ve been beating the Acuff drum for months. He’s a guaranteed All Star.

as I said in the other thread, okc has all the young talent in the world. What are they doing? Trying to move up into the high lotto to nab another young star. Because good organizations know u have to keep taking swings on young talent in the draft. They don’t sit out drafts, especially not back to back drafts. wtf are we doing? We are not in a position to sit out back to back drafts. This is simply not defensible. Clown show!
