I understand people here want Bosh, but at what price?

They are young, lottery draft picks and if you are rebuilding those are the kind of players you want to help build your core.

I am starting to get on the Amare deal. Amare is better than Bosh probably and you dont have to include Brooks in the deal making this team better by getting Amare instead too. So its Amre for Scola and Battier or Bosh for Brooks? I tell you Amare is the beter deal and if we have it on the table we should go ahead and do it instead of letting him sign somewhere else waiting for Bosh to make his decision.

Seems like the big name free agents are most likely not going to Knicks so those first round picks are gaining value by the hour!

Dude...Amare IS NOT better than Scola. Especially come to Playoffs...did you see him getting owned by Aldridge in one of the games?? Scola on the other hand...performed superly. I guranteed you that Morey is NOT going to trade Scola for Amare. It's probably for someone like Battier and draft picks if that happend.

WTF? I guarantee you Morey would trade Scola for Amare if we can't get Bosh. I love Scola, but Amare is far better.

Morey won't give up our best players. Patterson, Hill, Budinger, Battier, picks, Llull, and even Lowry can be given up without Morey losing any sleep.

As long as we keep Budinger...to be totally honest Budinger is the next best player on our roster next to Scola.

PLAYERS TO TRADE:Ariza,Brooks,Harris,Jeffries,Taylor...and a few no names...but no specific order

I know some people think that Brooks should be traded and Lowry should be the starter of the team. But IMHO I just can't see that happening. By all means, Lowry has the capability of being the starter. He has hustle, defense and playmaking to be one. But from what I see, we need that Brooks/Lowry combo to be effective. If we trade Brooks then other teams would treat our PG rotation the way they treat Rondo except Rondo is a much better player (IMHO, I know others think otherwise.)

Think of Yao and the PG's that he's played with. Alston? James? Lucas? SF3? Sura? This is the reason why we need Brooks: to keep defenses honest. Lowry can be the started and Brooks can be the instant offense off the bench, but either way, Brooks + Martin backcourt is deadly since you can't double team one without leaving the other.

I would hate to fill one void only to open another.

If we get rid of a pg, who will be our solid assured back up pg?
If we get rid of Battier we risk being a team that just needs that piece, that veteran piece, which we have held onto for so long, but not had the other pieces in place. Now we do, do we want to dump Battier's leadership, 3point ability, and defense when we have all the right people for him to shine?

To me this team is capable of beating the Lakers

    Yao/ ??
    Scola/Hayes/Hill
    Ariza/Battier/Bud
    Martin/??
    Brooks/Lowry

If we get a solid backup C, and SG, we have a legitimate team. How is Brad Miller's D? I remember him taking some awful shots in that Boston series few years ago, stood strong, but he is older and that was just one series. We have a lot of versatile players, Ariza and Battier can play the 2 or 3, Bud can play the two, you can play both PGs and have a small quick back court, or have a more defensive minded line up with both Ariza and Battier on the wing. May need another SG for a scorer, but I would rather our team address our Center issues before anything.

But what do I know, Morey's the MIT graduate haha

It's not a waste if a championship's your goal. Scola off the bench would give the Rockets a huge advantage over most teams.

Its a waiste if we have to trade away Brooks to get Bosh when we could not trade Brooks to just get Amare instead.

Hey my first post. Just wanted to add that they were discussing the rockets and bosh on around the horn, basically everyone shut it down, but they did mention think that with Bosh and Yao we are contenders.

Great point. IMO, people on here always make that mistake of failing to take into account that players get better, especially young players. The superstars of the league were once exactly what Hill is now, for instance. Another example: Before his breakout season last year, Brooks seemed much more dispensible than he does now. Stars usually don't start out as stars. I think you've got to take potential, not just last season's production, into account when making trades or projecting a team's success in the upcoming season.

Again, absolutely true. For a rebuilding team, the Rockets look like a goldmine.

Yep, you know what is funny the guy in Portland got both Roy and Aldridge to sign for less than the Max and then got fired.

Jordan, Duncan, Hakeem, and Shaq would disagree. They also have rings.
I can't remember any bench players becoming superstars that lead their team to rings.

If only we could get money from China and build the Rockets as Houston and an International team, luxury tax wouldn't be such a problem. Come on China!
