I understand people here want Bosh, but at what price?

I guess it may be Battier+Hill+fillers. Or, Battier+Jefferies+Hill + picks. In the latter case, the rockets need to take back one of the raptors' gabage contract.

I wouldn't mind seeing Battier, Jeffries, Hill or Patterson go but please don't give up Scola or Brooks.

I don't see Morey lowballing himself out of a potential deal (giving up Scola is not lowballing anyone), but I don't see him over paying for getting this deal done either. What are the Knicks, Heat and Bulls going to offer? The 1st round draft picks are going to tow alot more weight in a potential package for Bosh then most people think. And even if Bosh comes to Houston, their fortune will still hinge one players left foot.

I agree with everything here. I don't think he'll lowball or overpay. He'll evaluate and figure out what the highest he's willing to go is and stop there. I say he will, but in reality I'm sure he already has.

My only point is that the Raptors are not going to say "OK, give us all your garbage players and nothing of value and we'll send you Bosh." They would rather get the huge trade exception from Miami, Chicago or New York if the Rockets won't give them real assets.

If we are to get Bosh, then the starting points would def have to be Scola.... you can throw in picks, Hill, C Bud, or Jeffries/Battier... But we def have the pieces... BTW why would Toronto want to trade within their own conference... what would be the benefit?

Your right DD, our big boy is a bit of a pin cushion when it comes to injuries.

For me Scola(and trust me I don't want to trade him), Jeffries and some combination of picks would be as far as I would go. Im sure Morey would love to substitute Hill or even Patterson for not having to give up a player like Scola(16.2pts and 8.6 boards, plus intangibles).

Good post. Adding Bosh might be the team's best chance at becoming a true championship contender, but that doesn't mean he's worth giving up anything and everything to get him. There's a point at which you're diminishing the team enough to make the trade unjustifiable. I think it's wrong to say Aaron Brooks is easily replaceable. He's a scorer with unique quickness. He's still young and improving. He has experience in this offense. He has a personality that fits with this team. The Rockets have Lowry, which makes entertaining the thought of giving up Brooks possible. But it's not an easy decision, and it really depends what else you'd have to give up in addition.

To be honest, i would want to keep Patterson over Scola cause i don't think i would want to pay scola 5 years, 50 million to be a back up.

I don't know, a front line of Bosh, Yao and Scola plus either Hill or Patterson looks VERY nice to me.

You could be right. It would seem a waste to have both Scola and Bosh on the same team with Yao in the middle.

If Les is willing to pay for it, I'd love to keep Scola on the second team and have a constant barrage of firepower on the frontline to wear down opposing teams.

You are highly overrating Rockets role players who have serious flaws, especially defense. None of 2-4 is likely to become an all star in their career even though they have the chance to play with Yao. Rockets is not a contender with current make up. Look at how critical defense and inside size/skill combo is to winning championships. Scola has the skill but not tall enough, Hill has the size but not skill enough.

You are failing to realize that players get better......and thus are underating them.

    Yao makes everyone's defense better.

2-4 might become star players, no one knows.

Rockets are a contender as is...top 4 in WC = contender

Hill was a rookie he will get better.

Assuming the package is Brooks, Hill, JJ and draft picks

Fisher vs Lowry - Barely but Lowry would wear down the old man

Bryant vs Martin - Not as one sided as Ariza/Battier vs Bryant but still obvious advantage to Kobe.

Artest, Gasol and Bynum are not as good a front line as Ariza, Bosh and Yao

    Now the key...

Brown, Farmer, Odom, Walton, Sasha Sharapova and Powell

    vs

FAgent PG, Budinger, Battier, Scola, Patterson, B.Miller(Assumption)

Rox bench would have a decided advantage over the Lakers bench. Bosh coming on board would be SCAREY good.

Seriously, beating down opposing teams interior with Bosh and Yao and then bringing in Scola off the bench would be awesome.

I think with Yao's condition you almost have to have a player like Luis....

I mean with a Yao/Bosh/Scola rotation, it would probably break down like this:

    Bosh 38 mpg
    Scola 34 mpg
    Yao 24 mpg

With Scola's minutes sliding up and down based upon Yao's and Bosh's health and foul situation.
