I understand people here want Bosh, but at what price?

Since this discussion is quickly overwhelmed by DD, I am gonna quote myself here...

I do agree with you DD, Bosh IMO is not a superstar, hence not worth the price tag. Translation: I'd think twice even if all Toronto asks is: Battier/Jeffery/Hill/one pick from Knicks due to the 120M price tag.

Don't be surprised if Budinger, Battier, Scola, and Hill are the main trading factors in any deal, whether it's Bosh or Stoudemire or whoever.

If getting Bosh mean we have to give up AB, 1st round or other assets then NO THANKS. He's not a huge upgrade over Scola and giving up those assets while increasing $$ payroll is a bad move. Having Bosh is sexy on paper but won't translate to many W. Patterson, Scola, Hill solidfy the position. Get a good backup C should be our priority.

    Really?

How good has Bosh been at leading his team as a SUPERSTAR !!

I mean they are right there year in and year out, right? Because SUPERSTAR players elevate their teamates.

Yeah, think about it....Bosh is good, an incremental upgrade over Scola...but he is NOT a Superstar.

Nah, I have made my point, I can't help it if others do not agree.....

Well obviously Brooks and Bud weren't superstars either then so what are you worried about?

I agree with all of this, except for maybe Brooks. I love Brooks, would hate to see him go, but I think you're undervaluing Lowry. Lowry is a better passer, rebounder, and defender. Although he can't shoot like Brooks, we can get shooting from the 2/3, and lowry should have many more opportunities to drive with two great big men in the middle.

The bigger question would be, who would back up Lowry? Finding a competent back up would making losing Brooks much easier.

Bosh may not be a superstar, but he is a perennial All-Star and that's what this team needs.

I agree, my entire issue is one of redundancy and making the team better. Bosh does that, so I want him, but for a price that does not make us weaker at another position.

We have redundant pieces at the SF spot in Battier and Ariza and Jeffries, we have redundant pieces at the PF spot in Scola, Hill, Patterson....so I could see us trading a piece from there.

Our PG spot has a nice mix, but we may be losing our backup PG, if another team wants to overpay for his potential....

And our Center spot only has one guy who is injury prone.

Even star players need others to play with. Just a few years ago Kobe was whining & crying about not having anyone to play with and the Lakers were either ousted quickly in the 1st round or in the lottery. The guy was asking to be traded until Chris Wallace lost his damn mind in Memphis. Point is Even Kobe freakin Bryant needed another star player to play with!

Why would we sign and then keep Scola ? They would play the same position, but Bosh is better at it so Scola would sit on the bench this year and be gone with the wind next year as UFA. It would seem that losing Bosh would create quite a hole in their fours that they might enjoy getting a resigned Scola themselves. Since he is a near all-star himself that should be some big dollars also. Not Bosh's but a big chunk.

If Scola is not what gets packaged to Toronto, there might be a valuable sign and trade deal we could make to send Scola somewhere.

The leverage is with Bosh and not us, if Bosh wants to come to Houston and Toronto is asking for a kings ransom then Bosh can sign with the Knicks, Bulls or Heat outright and the Raptors get nothing.

I think giving up Scola, Jeffries and one of the 1st round picks should be able to do it. And giving up Scola is alot, he's the rockets best player outside of Yao and it would hurt making him part of that sign and trade.

If Bosh said "trade me to Houston or I'll just sign with... for the max and leave you with nothing" they'd call his bluff. They'd be able to hold $30 million over his head. He's not going to leave that money on the table just to spite Toronto for not sending him to Houston. And Morey knows this. Morey isn't going to lowball himself out of a deal and Bosh isn't going to lose out on the $30 million.

That is such a tired weak overplayed thing, I guess Aaron Brooks is white too, or Von Wafer or...ugh...why bother..????....

This franchise has been looking for a guy like CBud for years, he moves well off the ball and knocks down jumpers AND attacks the rim.

He has a very unique skillset and winning in the NBA is about combining skillsets to where you have a better team than the other guy.

Yes, Cbud is white, no, that does not factor into me liking him......

It is STYLE of play, please keep the moronic insinuations to yourself.

    Kids...sheesh.....

All I care about is winning......end of story.

I'm going to defend DaDaLaLa here. He falls in love with players regardless of their race. It's silly to suggest he likes CBud because he's albino. He loves Brooks, loved Badman, heck he even loved the black Tracy McGrady Vassilis Lowry.
