Congrats Chance. Your journeys make a good topic of conversation for me, like, "I know of this dude who said he made money by buying people's DV claims (I never even pursued my own DV claims), then wrote a rap song about Yao Ming (and other notable Houstonian athletes) and now runs the the only sports radio station in H-town. Major props for living life true. You're my rebuttal to all my buddies who said they had to sell out to make the big bucks.
Wow. Congrats. I'm hoping to get into such a field when I get out of school down the road, maybe someday you could give me some tips on how to get started. I listen to 610 all the time; have to disagree with the McClain talk. I find him interesting. But I'll have to think on it and come up with some feedback when I'm not half asleep.

Maybe I'm just not a Dan Patrick fan. His interview style to me is insipid, and the content of his shows seems to be repeating his goofy poll topics over and over and talking about who had lunch where, etc. To me, the topic of a show shouldn't be the show itself. But to each his own.
We will move back to Spring actually in the Fall. I can road trip every day for a couple months. And I'll take you up on the lunch! Chance

AMEN!! I may be in the minority, but I'd rather listen to some of our local guys instead of that insanely sickening butt kisser Rome, or the intolerable, monotonous, put you to sleep Dan Patrick show. Please get rid of as much ESPN network crap as you can and get our local guys back on. As soon as the national syndication type shows come on at 11 am everyday, I flip off your station and throw in the CDs. Congrats though Chance on accepting my dream job, buttmunch. John McClain has to be one of the most knowledgeable sports guys out there. I ALWAYS listen when he is on. He knows more about what he is talking about than anybody out there. I vote MORE John. And MORE football...this is TEXAS. More local high school football coverage!
I also enjoy listening to John McClain, but I think I'd be turning off the station if I hear much high school football talk. Stick with pro and local college sports talk. A Rockets hour every week would be nice, and Bullard on Thursdays is one of my favorite spots, even though I have to leave my office and sit in my car to hear it. B
MORE McClain - no doubt!! He has the inside information on so much stuff and an amazing point of view. Plus, he's a great guy who is crazy about this city and all the people in it. Get to know him well, Chance - he's a good one to have on your side.
