OMG, I have to rescind every bad thing I thought about Mo: how can you criticize someone who puts up Chucky Brown type numbers! lol! ------------------ snap crackle pop
It's not bandwagon stuff. The guy is young, has a mature game, and the guards are finally getting the ball to the big guys more. With Dream healthy,it fits together. If Webber comes ,I wouldn't be surprised to see the Rockets figure out a way to keep this guy.Mo wants to win and with his attitude,I could see him telling David Falk he wants to stay here.I agree, Kenny is a good role player and can do certain things well, but plays out of control at times and has limitations. ------------------ the fan formerly known as.... Mo had a great game. His defense was awesome. I for one never thought I'd see him play KG like that. He was very effective. But the thing that strikes me is that this was a great TEAM win. Everyone stepped in and did what they had to do to get the W. Franchise, Cat, and even KT had really rough nights offensively, but each of them made big plays, Steve with the assists (some of his passes were beautiful), Cuttino with some opportunistic steals, defensive plays, rebounds and just general hustle, and KT with some really nice inside defense. It's funny; at this point you might as an afterthought mention that Dream had, what, 12 and 12 with 3 blocks? That guy is still a critical, central part of the team. And don't forget Wiz, all you Walt-haters, who did just what he's paid to do. And Cato showed up, too, even. I love watching this team. ------------------
It'd be even more impressive if the Wolves were on a 4 game winning streak instead of a 4 game loosing streak. But I digress. TheCat, since you're so in love w/ Mo what sort of money do you think he's worth? 4 mil? 5 mil? You don't pay tons of cash for a chemistry player. You pay it for a dominator. Mo doesn't dominate the boards and he hasn't consistently dominated on offense. I certainly don't want to see another damn Cato contract taken on. ------------------
Achebe, it is still very impressive considering they had beaten us 6 times in a row. I am sure all the Wolves players were licking their collective chops at the thought of ending their losing streak against us........yeah right, I guess you will have to find someone else to end your streak against. Maybe this is a sign of things to come. We will now beat Orlando, and end our astounding losing streak against them as well. I predict this. ------------------ "Happiness is a journey, not a destination. Work like you don't need money, love like you've never been hurt, and dance like no one's watching."
Achebe, I think he could be a dominator every night on offense if given the ball, but sometimes he ends up as our 3rd or 4th option. In that case, you can't expect him to dominate every game. But when called upon, he can take over a game, and he can also rebound well. As I have always said, there are two pieces to the post players of a championship team (unless you get lucky and get it all in one like CWebb): post scoring and and an interior defender. You have to have both. Sure, right now the interior defender may be a more glaring need, but just because we don't have one. If we had a dominator on defense but lacked Mo, Mo would be a player we all dreamed about having. For an important piece of the puzzle like Mo, I would not hesitate to give him between 5-6 mil per year in a multi year deal. By the way, how fitting is it that my 2000th post is one in defense of Mo Taylor? ------------------ "We're not settling for just getting in the playoffs." "We want a higher seed. There's no doubt. Well... since your other 1999 posts were defending him, it doesn't suprise me ------------------ When we tire of well-worn ways, we seek for new. The Cat: It isn't like Bobfinn* was ever an irrational Mo-hater. Bobfinn* had reasonable, well-founded concerts. Taylor *does* disappear sometimes. Taylor *does* have a problem with rebounding. Taylor *doesn't* always play great defense. I actually like Taylor and have defended him in the past... but Taylor certainly has limitations, which it doesn't help to gloss over. ------------------ Why is it that everytime BC defeats a major conference opponent, that opponent promptly goes on a losing streak? PS. Notre Dame sucks
Those were used to defend Collier. Keep up the good work The Cat, someone needs to keep pointing out the positive, instead of just complaining. MO has gotten better as the season has progressed & with Dream contributing a solid game, it's starting to look like Vancouver can count on another #1 pick in this years draft. ------------------
I'm very impressed with Hakeem, dude seems to be VERY consistant, he keeps pulling out all these very solid games out of him. If he doesn't get hurt, and keeps playing like this (hoping nobody else gets hurt either), I see a nice chance or reaching the playoffs.. and damn, what's gotten' into Mo?? he he, I just hope it stays there.. ------------------ against all odds
Well Mo has played two very good games in a row. And I was most impressed by his moves to the baseket last night. As Worrell and Gettis pointed out several times last night, Mo was rely playing like a power forward last night. Now is he the Rockets power forward of the future? Maybe. I would like to hold back judgment until the end of season. Plus, he may not want to stay in Houston if he can get a lot more money elsewhere.
Don't worry Cat. Taking flack doesn't hurt the next day. btw Cat: thanks for no longer bashing Kenny/Rogers to build up Mo'. Mo' can stand on his own. Mo' and Dream really stepped up when the guards couldn't. I think they recognized the importance in the 3rd quarter of doing so.
I'm glad I don't have to start a thread to praise Mo this morning. There are a couple out there already. I did not for a second think Mo would disappear this game. He was so on vs. Walker & Boston, you could just tell he was ready to take his game to Garnett & the T-Wolves. All you Mo nay-sayers do have a valid point, though. Minnesota was doubling on the guards all day long, so Mo just really did what was expected of him whenever he had the opportunity. Oh yeah, and he kept Garnett in check. And pulled down some key boards, too. If Mo's our 3rd or 4th option in the offense, then we really have nothing to worry about offensively. The points will come. Defense is what will get the Rockets into the playoffs. I'm one of Mo's biggest fans, and I hope he continues to step up his game defensively. Did you guys see that one play where one of the Minnesota guards (I forget which one) tried to drive to the basket, but was met by both Mo AND Dream? Those 2 blocked his shot so well, the refs had to call a foul on us. Was a great defensive play. ------------------ Founding Father of the Refs Suck Club
