    @justtxyank @Mr. Clutch @SamFisher @J Sizzle

Here's the data for how gaurded the 3s were for last night's game
    http://stats.nba.com/teams/shots-closest-defender/#!?Season=2016-17&SeasonType=Regular Season&DateFrom=02/01/2017&CloseDefDistRange=6+ Feet - Wide Open
    • Defended 0-2' (very tight)
      0-3
    • Defended 2-4' (tight)
      3-11
    • Defended 4-6' (open)
      3-12
    • Defended 6+ (wide open)
      7-25
and fwiw: of those, we were 1-1 for shots with under 4 seconds left in clock and 2-4 on shots taken with less than 7 seconds left on shot clock. Shot clock range appears normal compared to the season. With a light uptick on 22-18 second (very early) shots, but we know those are often 2nd-chance 3s from clock resetting after a miss. We were 4-13 on those (30%), normally 3.3 for 8.3 (40%) on those.

    7-25 on wide open 3s.
10-37 on "open" 3s in general.

    Pathetic.

It is pretty infuriating when the Rockets sharp shooters miss wide open 3 after wide open 3 and then at the other end the opponent drills contested 3's. Ya just throw up your arms.

the amount of 3's we take is only the result of not having perimeter players who can attack the paint. we only have 2 guys who can create their own shot.

james and gordon are the only 2 who can get in the paint. bev, ariza, and dekker can't beat thier guy off the dribble.

everyone else shoots contested 3's, and if james can get in the paint they might get an open shot once in a while.

I don't know if it's even searchable because nba.com's SAP engine intimidates me...but that's got to be the record for missed open threes right?

The stats also show we only take 8 tight or very tight threes per game. This game we took 14.

And we usually take 16.4 open (4-6 ft) threes per game (12 on this game).

But also only average only 15 very open threes, so we got a lot more of those.

So we took both more open and more guarded threes, which would make sense since we just took more threes. We almost doubled our guarded threes but not quite on our open threes.

37 open threes vs 31 average.

14 gaurded threes vs 8 average.

It's weird we got that many more wide open threes but not more regular open threes. I'd like to see the breakdown on distance or if they were pullup or off the dribble.
