nobody is saying Sheppard played good…but acting like we were going to win the game is being straight up brain dead. When you’ve thrown in the towel you get your guys minutes and coach them through the ups and downs. That’s hard. Being passive aggressive and benching is easy. Reed didn’t just magically start regressing when he’s been asked to play with 3 starting/bench units in the span of 2 weeks

To clarify, they are indeed far apart on defense, but not as far as the average fan thinks. In other words, Amen is not peak Kawhi and Reed is not a complete zero.

Regardless, often the best defense is a good offense - Ime's long leash for Amen and quick hook for Reed ignores that premise.

I respect you and your opinions, but Sheppard needed to be benched after those 3 horrendous turnovers in a row last night. I don’t know if you were one of the Jalen haters that were screaming when he was getting played for the benefit of “development”, but the hypocrisy is deep around here. Reed is clearly a backup PG getting close to starter minutes already. It is the right thing to do, but when he is horrendous on the defensive side of the ball, like last night, he needs to sit. If we had some depth at guard, Amen should have been benched as well, but he and Okogie were the only ones playing any defense at all. It’s not necessarily a good idea to play a young player in the mist of a confidence crisis.

You have been a huge Reed supporter, so it’s nice to see a level headed Reed supporter, that talks about the Rockets as a team and realizes that there is a process in developing these young guys. Do I think Ime is a great coach, no, but the hate for pulling someone playing that bad is idiotic. Playing guys when they are playing horrendously has consequences for the player as well as the team.

Amen is when he wants to be. He's just not playing with that intensity so far, he's more focused on the offense. You'll see in the playoffs, he'll be a lock down defender
