Guaranteed money is the issue. I think everyone on this fan site would negotiate hard for any contract that would get them the most money as possible.

Reportedly guaranteed money is the issue. We don’t know the terms. 100 mil doesn’t mean 100 mil guaranteed

Contract year Tari better start playing his ass off or he is going to lose a lot of money.

Tari Eason averaged 12ppg last season
    The first 2 games, he's averaged 3.5ppg
Tari gets his average and we're 2-0...we'll be just fine this season.
However, I would say we're missing FVV 14ppg from the starting point guard position. The Nets are a perimeter team, and I think we should give Reed the starter spot against the Nets...also, Aaron Holiday should get minutes on Monday against the Nets...we desperately need another ball handler to have Amen play more off-ball as a slasher where he was at his best last year...

Insane when you think Alpi only got 3 mil something per for his Rookie contract and Reed's getting 10 mil to look that ****.

I love Tari and expected big things from him this year, but "trust" is my biggest concern about him at the moment. His head clearly isn't screwed on and I'm not 100% certain he's salvageable. It's not like he's the first guy who failed to reach a contract agreement prior to his 4th season. His lack of focus is something I cannot forgive.

Just producing a pedestrian 10/6 with hustle and disruptive defense in the first two games and the Rockets would be 2-0 instead of 0-2.

I certainly don't trust Jabari either. His disappearing act against defensive ace Duncan Robinson was disgraceful.

    He's just a giver, not a taker.

I don't want us drafting any more players with loud twitter parents.

I don’t think it’s that simple. He isn’t guarding 5 people. One player isn’t usually the issue. It’s the collective that failed. As bad as Tari has been it’s not all on him either just like as terrible as Reed has been it’s not all on him.

As I said no one knows what’s going on with any player and people only assume what they don’t know. What we do know is Tari hasn’t looked right. And this team hasn’t looked right. We can only hope they all play better.

The main reason I trust Eason on the floor more than Smith is defensive versatility.

I trust Eason against most matchups considerably more than Jabari. Eason’s superior perimeter defense, combined with more strength, similar length, similar rebounding.

Offensively Jabari has a higher volume output from 3, but overall they have the same efficiency level and scoring rate, so it’s not like you lose anything with Tari on the floor offensively either.

I know it’s not going to be a popular take with Jabari getting paid, Eason not re-signing, and Eason having 2 terrible games to start the year, but it’s my honest viewpoint

Your points are exactly why I expected Tari to show clear superiority over Jabari this season, but now I question his character. Hopefully I'm just overreacting.

If he turned down over 100 mil with over 85 guaranteed, given his injury risk and that rod in his leg, if that's true that was a stupid decision indeed..

They were negotiating hard all summer. So you're right we would all negotiate hard to get us the most money possible, and then we would likely take that most money possible deal instead of turning it down and going into the uncertainty of the year. It sounds like 85 mil would have had to be guaranteed (from what I hear anyway) and if that's the most money that was possible, then he should have taken it. If he goes down again this year with a leg injury he's screwed and essentially lost him self on close to 100 million dollars. This is not on Stone, this is on Tari. Dyson Daniels got 100 mill and didn't complain.

2-game sample size bro. Let’s give him a couple weeks to see if he breaks out of his funk.

Totally agree. I thought Dyson Daniels' contract would set an agreeable guideline for Tari and the Rockets.
