This is exactly why Smith and DJ will not be in when the games count, because teams will hack them to death. Their main liability will be their team's liabilities. Not sure how much this strategy will be implemented during the regular season, but in the playoffs for sure. Watch the league change the rules to help them out.

Well you're not necessarily wrong yet. It's possible we could be worse with Josh now.

True. I was actually more wrong about Ty Lawson.

My point was that with Ty Lawson playing with Harden, there wouldn't be much room for Josh Smith to do Josh Smith things on offense, and he could disrupt the chemistry.

However, Lawson hasn't panned out like we expected him to.

So now, maybe there is room for Josh Smith.

We need to not expect anything from them for a while and let's just roll with it.

Watched a clipper game not too long ago where Smith sparked a nice comeback leading to a win.

The Rockets losing him and Harden's even worse defense this year are probably the major catalysts for this season being a disappointment.

He played great and showed a lot of skills and intangibles on both ends.

I think the Rockets miss having a guy like that, mkay ?

If an opposing team decides to go hack a, we have no proper defensive big that can hold the front line.

This is a huge problem but at least we have some spacing now.. I'm not 100% sold on Smith just yet but I think like everybody on this forum we will take whatever plusses and extra wins we can for this season

Partly right though because his efficiency isn't the main thing

    Grit, glue and toughness

The guy shows heart when his head is right on and that showed in the playoffs

You are not going win a championship (at least the odds are not in our favor)
and Morey has to do better than bandaid a talented but flawed roster

but I guess we can achieve what we did last year - at least they will try
