I rather see Machado strt. Douglas is amarginal role player. He has no business starting on any NBA team.
They are imperfect, yes. But the chances of you ever holding a clipboard on an NBA court are close to 0 so we'll just have to make due until there is a coaching change.
Jet fuel has no legit anything to back up his argument. All he did was twist one comment Sampson made about Douglas playing a few minutes in that Detroit blowout. All Sampson said was he played Douglas a bit more because he liked how Douglas matched up against Bynum. Jet fuel the genius here was determined what Sampson said was bashing on Lin' s ability somehow and was pissed off Lin got some rest in a complete blowout. Now he has gone full r****d off the Sampson comment and spamming it in random threads and making conspiracies about how Sampson doesn't like Lin or some ****. Honestly if you read what Sampson said, it was actually all about giving Douglas a compliment who has really been struggling. I have no idea why jet fuel is going through the effort of spinning and twisting it into something else.
At this stage, I am sick and tired of Lin getting such negative feedback, including from Sampson. If Sampson thinks TD is better in certain situations, is better (or faster) in the fastbreak, go ahead and start him. It won't be the first time that Lin has been incredibly underrated. Sampson did it before when Lin was cut and he's doing it again. Anything Lin accomplished seems to have been luck or the system in his eyes based on his comments. I'm fine watching Lin tear it up on the second unit, provided that the second unit actually plays team basketball and lets him run point. If they make Lin sit in the corner with the second unit too, then they should trade Lin to a team who is willing to use him properly and get something in return.
I agree with you. If they don't think he can bring something to the team then just trade him but then it will be a shame to not develop a young guy properly.
When your coach says that he thinks you are not a good match up for a back up pg in the worst team in the league, how can u construe that as being not disrespectful, whether Sampson did it intentionally or not? Would he say similar thing about harden? Would any coach say that about a player they regard highly? Do u really think based on how Lin has been used thus far in the season that his game is being respected by his own coaching staff? I would be the first to admit that he sucks if he doesnt do well if he is used as a primary pg but it looks like the coaching staff has no plans to develop him as such. Just watch how he plays tomorrow. There will be many times he just goes to the corner and just stands there doing nothing.
respectfully I think thats a terrible idea, I'd rather start Lin and bring Machado off the bench but Machado can't play defense as well as Douglas..

What I wouldn't mind seeing is Parsons playing a little bit at the 2 to give Morris some time at the 3, so as to give keep his development and minutes, while giving T Jones some back-up 4 minutes. In this line-up, of course we'd see either Lin or Harden playing the point. As much as I want to see Lin be the primary playmaker when he plays with Harden, and not hand off the ball to Harden when he crosses half court ... Harden is still the second best playmaker on the team.
Be careful what you wish for, it might backfire. Do Lin fans really want him to backup Douglas? Or could it be that by starting Douglas, it’s kinda expected that he will perform badly in his starter role as compared to Lin? Then hopefully, Rockets fans will start to appreciate Lin more when they see how Douglas is struggling in comparison while Lin is excelling with the second unit. Sounds like a perfect plan? Hmm, not so sure about that. Not that I think Douglas is better – he is not. Douglas was asked to do too much as a PG in D’antoni’s offense, it’s not his forte. Not even close. His shot may be gone now but maybe he could get hot if he gets more touches or plays more minutes. He’s just very very streaky. Given how limited the PG needs to do in our offense, who knows, he might be adequate if given starter minutes. And what if Lin falls flat with the second unit because, I don’t know perhaps due to inexperience and a lack of outstanding talent? Bear in mind that much of Lin’s success in NY was greatly dependent of talents such as Tyson Chandler and Steve Novak. One guy was the DPOY and the other led the league in 3-point shooting %. Also, Lin had instant chemistry with guys like Fields who isn't very talented but could cut and slash, and finish an alley oop better than most of our guys. Then there is Shumpert who's a great defender. I don’t see Lin having instant chemistry with any of our guys, except ironically with Harden in the first 2 games, and that is another topic altogether. But hey, I’d admit this is pure speculation, maybe even BS on my part coz anyway what’s wrong with that? Given some of the conspiracy theories and weak-ass conclusions we’ve seen on here, I thought it could be fun.
Liabilities... Douglas has an extremely low basketball IQ. For example, picking up your dribble when guarded outside of the three point line is something you learn not to do when you first start playing the game. I have seen him do this multiple times and cringe everytime it happens.
hes what 4 for 30 from the field. runs the offense like @#$% and turns the ball over more frequent then lin. YEAH BUDDY lets start him and try n trade for thabet or how ever you spell his name
If you think TD should start over Lin, if your that person that thinks that: 1. turn around 2. find a mirror 3. run into it
You don't pay a 25 million dollar player to play 2nd team, this is no experiment, either we in, or we out with Lin.
