I think it's time for Toney Douglas to start.

And for Lin to lead the 2nd team.

    Benefits:
    1. Douglas is a much better spot up shooter than Lin.
    2. Douglas doesn't play defense as well as Lin, but he can lock down an opposing PG.
    3. Harden can rest more knowing that when Lin comes in, there is still someone to drive and create shots for other players. (Coaches are going to run Harden into the ground if he keeps on playing 40 mins a game.)
    4. Players don't get confused between ISO and ball movement offense because you always have a playmaker on the floor.

    Liabilities:
    <None>

    Thoughts?

Have you even seen Toney Douglas play? If so then this thread can't be serious.

    Probably its a good idea.

Because brazilian media are talking that Lakers want Lin next season to backup Nash...

You know...Machado friends are talking about everything for our journalists...

    5. Rockets can then utilize both Harden's and Lin's strongest skillset.

Douglas is a much better spot-up shooter than Lin. We can all see that. So when Harden is driving, he can kick it out to Douglas. If he kicks it out to Lin, then the shooting percentage is lower.

This is all about maximizing everyone's strength on the team.

We would start every game in a hole. Our offense would be terrible.

You cannot have a PG with terrible BBIQ

Douglas is just not playing well. Lin is not shooting well, but he is doing a good job with everything else.

Douglas did OK against the Heat. He has the ability to lock down opposing PGs. He's also a good spot up shooter. And with Harden running the offense for the 1st team, Toney doesn't need to be Chris Paul out there.

It's not really that ridiculous of an idea. Toney Douglas is a better shooter (at least from spot up ) than Lin. He also plays more aggressive and will fit much better with Sampson's philosophy than Lin does. Lin can run the second unit when Harden needs a break.
