Lol do we gotta a better chance without him... starting a guy that's gonna miss every open or contested shot whoever he is gets. Melo won't miss too many shots that come in the midst of a chemistry/ryhthm themed offense with CP3 in it. If the team wants to play defense then not only Melo will have to buy in so would Harden... that's something the Rockets have to want as a whole and it starts with your leader. So I'm less concerned with Melo on that for that reason alone.

if the rockets are going to be consistent with what works against GS and thats be the defensive team they were last year melo doesn't fit. he makes that plan worse. so you should be worried

I’m not sure you watched Melo play last year if you think he won’t bring open shots and I’m not sure you watched much of the rockets if you think we play a rhythm offense.

Eric Gordon complained about how the offense now makes it hard for him to get in rhythm at all.

Sounds like we need to bench Harden and Gordon against GS because apparently they don't fit with what works against GS.

Part of the reason the thunder will be willing to dump Melo is because they know they’ll be better for it

JJ lol get off the gas he was totally out of shape and wasn't expected to get to a allstar level again. The guy is not even paid to be depended on like that.

Nope, they are bad defensively thus if we play then the sky falls. That was what you were saying right? Or was that just if we add another player who is less than stellar defensively but a plus offensively?

oh they are? i could of sworn the rockets were the only team to hold GS under 100 throughout the playoffs. not only once but twice and EG/JH were very much apart of that.

    youre making no sense whatsoever

So because free agency has been awful so far we're now willing to sign a high volume brick layer who refuses to pass the ball, play defense, or come off the bench?

It's all about that tax. PG13 wasn't all that there's a reason why this team barely made the playoffs and was out in the first round. It's the team philosophy and on court play style more than it is one guy's fault. All three guys take too many out of rhythm iso shots... the defense they played was actually what keep them relevant.

I’m not convinced Melo is a plus offensively anymore. I’m cool to take a chance on him as long as it isn’t going to tear this team up trying to force him to start

The thunder were a better defense and offense when Melo sat on the bench

he isn't. and yeah thats the only role that would potentially help this team.

off the bench in limited minutes with his fake superstar ego in check but thats not very likely. other than that he isn't a starter on a championship team.

I can see that too. He didn't fit in at all over there. Neither did Victor Oladipo... not saying Melo is that guy but Melo needs to be played and set up a certain way for his rhythm and style of play. Melo is not as good as he once was but he isn't as bad as people think he is either. I just won't buy he is worse than most of the trash names I'm hearing being brought up to replace Ariza.

Oh, so the results of the team in that series makes Harden and Gorden good defenders? That's an interesting hot take.

Consider just maybe that poor defenders can look good in a series.

I don't think there's any question that being stuck on a team with Westbrook hurt how Melo looked, but I don't hold that against him. Almost everyone looks terrible when playing next to Westbrook....I mean making his teammates worse is just what Westbrook does.

I think if put on a team next to guys like Harden and CP3 that make their teammates better, Melo would be a plus offensively.

well when you take into consideration and entire season the rockets were a top defensive team that should tell you something. i can't believe the angle youre trying to take here. it makes 0 sense. its funny trying to talk about defense on this board when the majority really dont have a good understanding on what good defense is. I can understand how some can criticize harden defensively. he has his limitations. but you;re actually trying to say gordon isnt a good defensive player. hilarious

If we get the clown Melo, it will pretty much end any chance we have left remaining to contend this season.

Melo is a selfish low IQ, bonafide low %, high volume chucker, with some of the worst shot selection in the NBA.

And if that was not enough, he is absolute trash on defense. Warriors will pick him apart on defense and destroy us.

    But wait, there is more!!!

If you act now, or even later, he will destroy your chemistry in the locker room as well!
